'YOU ONLY GET ONE SHOT AT A WORLDWIDE LAUNCH': Faraway Said That Dookey Dash Unclogged Will Launch Later This Summer, As They Work To Make The Game 'Stick Hard' And Fun For Casual Gamers And Apes!

Yuga Labs and their gaming partner, Faraway Studios, are going to need a bit more time to fix the plumbing and 'normie-proof' the pipes below the Bored Ape Yacht Club before letting millions of players ape into Dookey Dash Unclogged later this summer!

On Monday, Faraway Studios gave Apes, Degens, and normies a new Dookey Dash Unclogged update, announcing that the game is currently live in six countries and that everyone can expect to be swimming through the sewers by the end of summer!

“Like the sewers, we are constantly running into shit that makes us realize we need to up our game for the normies,” Faraway wrote in a four-part tweet thread. “We’ve added new game modes, new content, new prizes and that's us just warming up. Right now, it’s safer to say that we’re looking at a full-fledged release closer to the end of this summer. We know this is a bummer, but we promise you any delays are a direct result of our need to ensure this game sticks. Hard."

While delays are boring, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took to Twitter to say that they were needed to make the game fun for everyone, not just Apes, and emphasized the importance of getting this right!

 

“You only get one shot at a worldwide launch for a mobile game,” Garga tweeted. “So that first touch has to be really special and frictionless. We're hellbent on Dookey Dash getting on millions of phones and putting Yuga and BAYC into everyone's pocket. So while the game is live in a couple countries with reduced features for testing, there's a LOT of tuning and new features for Dookey Dash that we're working on with @farawaygg and @SuperfineOrg. All with the goal of making sure that the game is a blast not just for apes, but for people who've never touched crypto and know nothing about BAYC. So yeah, we need a little more time for worldwide launch. But we're putting a ton of muscle behind our goal: Be the #1 game on the app store.”

Making sure that Dookey Dash is fun for casual gamers and folks who have never heard of the BAYC has always been Yuga Labs’ goal since the game was first announced in Janaury, 2024.

As Apes wait for Dookey Dash to launch later this summer, Faraway is giving the community seven days’ worth of sneak peeks at the game's new features, beginning with its new arcade mode.

“To kick off 7 Days of Dookey, here’s an inside look at Arcade Mode,” Faraway tweeted along with some never before seen gameplay footage. “In Arcade Mode, you’ll need to complete levels with objectives to progress and win prizes. This new mode helps us introduce mechanics to new users in digestible bites while rewarding them with new unlocks.”
