The vibes were immaculate around the swamp this evening after longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member 0xWave brought back the classic “Bored Ape Yacht Club” copy pasta, filling the timeline with “yes” replies!
On Friday, hundreds if not thousands of Apes took over X with an oldie but goodie copy pasta trend: tweeting Bored Ape Yacht Club and reply guying to others posts around the swamp with a simple “yes.”
“The power of Apes is truly unmatched,” Yuga Labs’ Mr Eth tweeted. “How an entire community can instantly rally around something with little to no context.. Few.”
The Bored Ape Yacht Club and Yes trend began this evening when 0xWave reminded Apes just how easy it is to trend on X when the community comes together.
“I feel like NFT communities have forgotten how easy it is to just trend stuff on this app if you get literally every holder you can to post/cross-interact Feel like we randomly sent #BAYC / Bored Ape Yacht Club into trending just through pure memetic activation. Bored Ape Yacht Club (you reply: yes)”
0xWave is no stranger to copy pasta culture and has been a thought leader around the swamp on the subject for years.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, 0xWave originated the “Bored Ape Yacht Club, yes” trend in March 2023. He also kicked off an extremely viral copy pasta in October 2022, which called for proof of Ape ownership before following more monkeys on the timeline:
“If you’re a Bored Ape or a Mutant Ape and I’m not already following you, comment or DM so I can remedy that (just need proof, easiest way is for your OpenSea to link to your twitter)”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all the copy pasta trends around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
