YEAR IN REVIEW: ImprobableIo Reflects On Its Metaverse Moves In 2024!

As 2024 comes to a close, Yuga Labs’ Otherside partner ImprobableIo shared a new sizzle reel highlighting their strides toward making the interoperable metaverse a reality!

This year was anything but boring in the swamp—or the wider metaverse—after Yuga Labs reunited with ImprobableIo, following Garga’s return as CEO.

Together, they rolled out monthly Project Dragon events on Otherside, a poker night, and two Bubble hangouts that were popping with primates!

 

ImprobableIo also invited community members to explore its interoperable M²-powered metaverse with visits to the MLB Virtual Ballpark for baseball games, incredible events like Forgotten Runes Halloween, and its persistent metaverse, the Construct.

“Reflecting on 2024, it’s been an incredible year for MSquared,” the company tweeted this morning. “Our platform evolved to become more accessible and self-serve, empowering brands, agencies, and creators to bring bold ideas to life—efficiently and at scale. We powered unforgettable events, from @MLB's virtual ballpark to the @BBCPhilharmonic's innovative concert, showcasing how virtual worlds elevate live experiences. With collaborations like @EdisonMetaverse's events including the amazing @ForgottenRunesHalloween event, we’ve worked with visionary partners to redefine what’s possible.”

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, ImprobableIo's creations run on its M² technology, described as  “a network of interoperable metaverses to create interconnected virtual worlds and experiences for users to socialize, play games, attend concerts, create and build value over time. Leveraging Improbable’s Morpheus technology, together with components of Web3, M² builds, operates, and services new virtual worlds for other businesses in its open metaverse.”

 

ImprobableIo CEO Herman Narula explained M²’s vision during a metaverse meetup event in June 2023.

 

“It’s essentially like an ecosystem that lets everybody profit," he said.“So, you can make a world like Sandbox and Decentraland, you can connect one in, you can create MML objects, and you can have them move from world to world. You can create and use experiences that have thousands of people in them at the same time. And none of these are going to be decisions that are only made by Improbable. So M2 stands apart from us and is kind of like an underlying telecoms network for the metaverse. And there will be economic incentives that will incentivize all of the large metaverses we are working with to create more interoperable.”

 

 

Looking ahead, Apes, Voyagers, and more will return to the swamp of Otherside in January for the next episode of Project Dragon. Then later in 2025, they will journey to the Kodas’ home world of the Nexus, where Yuga Labs and Adam Weitsman will tell the tale of the Kodas.
