UPPING THE ANTE: Yuga Labs Is Collaborating With Pixel Vault To Bring 'Skill Based Wagering To Otherside And ApeChain

Throwback Thursday was anything but boring around the swamp after Yuga Labs announced that the company is collaborating with NFT OGs Pixel Vault to bring gambling and rewards for skill-based games to ApeChain and Otherside!

Is this 2024, or are we back in 2021?

The early Bored Ape Yacht Club vibes are back as Yuga Labs and Pixel Vault announce they’re working together again!

“Otherside is preparing for its next odyssey,” Yuga Labs tweeted. “Yuga is proud to partner with @PixelVault_ to bring skill-based wagering to @Othersidemeta and other future products via @rebootgg_”

For those unfamiliar with Pixel Vault’s Reboot, it is a game developer toolkit that can reward players for winning skill-based games on-chain.

“As we head into this next chapter of Otherside, enabling first-of-its-kind action gameplay with unheard of concurrency (3k+ player team fights and other insanity), integrating the protocol with Otherside just makes sense,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga tweeted after the announcement. “We're working together to make sure Reboot can be used in Yuga-developed experiences but also UGC-created ones via the ODK. Reboot is also its own permissionless protocol - so it will also be available to other third party devs building on ApeChain. Have tremendous respect for @Gfunkera86 and everything he and the PV team have built. And stoked too, that as part of this, Pixel Vault's flagship game Battle Plan will be joining us on ApeChain. This collaboration is not the first time that Yuga Labs and Pixel Vault have teamed up. Back in 2021, the two companies were part of Adidas’ Into The Metaverse NFT and merch drop.

Additionally, Pixel Vault was an early supporter of the BAYC, creating an Elite Ape comic book in the summer of 2021, and Pixel Vault’s United Planetary DAO attempted to purchase the Dookey Dash Unclogged Golden key for $1.1 million USD in 2023.
