TIMELINE TOUR: Apes And Voyagers Got A Closer Look The First Three Community-Made Otherside Builds

The Otherside was looking insane on Mutant Monday, as the first three Apes to build in the metaverse took over the timeline with fresh looks at the Made By Apes Bodega, the BoredArtNotClub-inspired movie theater, and this paper’s Otherside newsroom!

Things were anything but boring around the swamp on Monday as Rida, Tropical Virtual, and Bailey—the first three community members to build in Yuga Labs’ metaverse using the Alpha version of its Otherside Development Kit (ODK)—took the community on a tour of the Otherside, sharing new videos and photos of their creations.

“Such a surreal feeling to be building experiences with other Builders for so many other insane #MBA builders with @OthersiseMeta ‘s ODK powered by #ApeChain  @MSquared_io,” Rida tweeted along with a minute-long video of the Bodega featuring brands like Bored Bagels, House OG, Frens Chocolate, and many more kicking off today’s journey!

After Rida took Apes and Voyagers on a tour of the Bodega, Tropical Virtual got the timeline buzzing with BoredArtNotClub’s new movie theater that was showcasing the Otherside trailer on the big screen!

“Taking a break from hanging some art in the @BoredArtNotClub gallery,” Tropical Virtual tweeted. “Time for a movie. Built in the ODK powered by ApeChain.”

 

 

After the movies, Bailey gave the community a closer look at the Bored Ape Gazette’s newsroom, which is, objectively speaking, a vibe!

“New shots of @BoredApeGazette hot off the press,” Bailey tweeted along with four photos. “ Built w/ the ODK, powered by #ApeChain @MSquared_io.”

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first showcased the three community-inspired creations built by BAYC members Rida, Bailey, and Tropical Virtual on July 31, giving Apes and Voyagers a glimpse at what’s possible on Otherside.

 

Looking ahead, Yuga Labs plans to expand access to its Alpha ODK later this month and will be inviting community members with experience in Unreal Engine to apply and start building.

 

“Excited for how the ODK is coming together, and grateful for the thoughtfulness and creativity of our couple pre-alpha testers,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga tweeted on July 31st. “We'll be slowly ramping up more access throughout the alpha period, aiming to go from 3 to ~20 users/teams in August while we continue to pressure test and add features with our partners at Improbable. And then more from there. Slow, yes, but finally: steadily. Note: The best testers for these early stages are going to be folks already familiar with Unreal Engine. More info to come.”
