"THIS APE IS NOT A SECURITY": After The SEC Ended Its Fishing Expedition Into Yuga Labs, BAYC’s Curtis Went Fishing Himself And Kicked Off A New Copy Pasta!

After the Securities and Exchange Commission ended its fishing expedition into Yuga Labs, the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s mascot, Curtis, grabbed his pole, a beach chair, and a cold one and reflected on the fact that 'this ape is not a security,' kicking off a round of copy pasta!

The sun is shining around the swamp today, and BAYC members are unbothered. Moisturized. In their lanes. Catching vibes after the cloud of a potential SEC lawsuit dissipated earlier this week.

“Bored Ape Yacht Club,” Yuga Labs tweeted, along with a new work of art by the company’s new Creative Art Lead, Wut, featuring the phrase  “This ape is not a security” written across the bottom.

Following this tweet, BAYC members flooded the timeline with their Apes, which also aren’t securities, celebrating the SEC’s decision to close its three-year investigation with another round of copy pasta and boring art!

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, on Monday, Yuga Labs took to the timeline to announce that the SEC had officially closed its investigation into the company.

“After 3+ years, the SEC has officially closed its investigation into Yuga Labs,” Yuga Labs tweeted. “This is a huge win for NFTs and all creators pushing our ecosystem forward. NFTs are not securities.”

The SEC’s decision to drop the case comes as President Donald Trump and Acting SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda have been closing crypto-related investigations into major players like OpenSea, Uniswap, and more!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow what impact the closing of the SEC’s investigation has on Yuga Labs and builders around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
