The Bored Ape Yacht Club's Community Council Will Be Adding New Committee Members Soon!

The Bored Ape Yacht is getting ready to look for new Apes to join its Community Council and help guide Yuga Labs’ decisions on the club!

16 months after the Bored Ape Yacht Club announced the creation of a seven person BAYC Community Council, Yuga Labs announced that it will begin looking for new primates to join the committee and help them stay connected with the Bored Ape community!

“Shout out and a big thank you to the first BAYC Community Council,” the club tweeted this afternoon. “We’re going to open up the council to get some new Apes in to help us steer the ship. More on that soon.”

Following the announcement, current Community Council Member, Peter Fang, congratulated his fellow Council Members on a job well done and said that he’s excited to see what the next group accomplishes!

“Was an honor to help lay the foundation and be part of the @BaycCouncil,” Fang tweeted. “S/o to the first class @beijingdou, @negithenagi,@SeraStargirl,@TheMiamiApe,@0xEthanDG, @0xWave and to  @yugalabs @BoredApeYC who helped see this through - Good things coming, apes! #ApesTogetherStrong

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced the creation of a BAYC Community Council, whose mission was to collect and relay feedback from the BAYC and MAYC communities to Yuga Labs, while also uplifting community-driven initiatives and projects, on October 5th, 2022.

“Every Ape in our community has directly impacted our decision-making from day one,” Yuga Labs wrote at the time. “This council, and future councils to come, puts a more formal, efficient and consistent process in place for Yuga leadership to get community feedback and advice on an ongoing basis.”

During their term, the BAYC's first Community Council held several spaces with Yuga Labs leadership, coordinated with local Ape chapters to sponsor events, and even helped set up satellite ApeFest festivities around the globe!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the BAYC Community Council and will let you know when Yuga Labs shares more information on the committee. Stay tuned for updates!
