The Bored Ape Yacht Club Hosted Its First Ever ApeCoin AIP Space. Find Out More About This New Series!

Bored Apes may not read, but they sure do love Spaces! On Wednesday, the Bored Ape Yacht Club hosted its first-ever Ape Improvement Proposal Space, allowing Apes and $Ape holders to get a better understanding of the proposals on the ballot this cycle.

A week after Yuga Labs officially delegated 6.5 million $Ape worth of ApeCoin DAO votes to the new Made By Apes delegation—representing the interests of the program’s 400+ Made By Apes builders—Yuga Labs’ Baron Von Hustle and IllaDaProducer hosted the Club’s first AIP Space from the BAYC account.

“This is a very exciting moment for the Bored Ape Yacht Club in that we are now giving the opportunity to vote as a delegation by being an MBA,” Baron said.

Over the next hour, Baron, Illa, and community members discussed Ape Improvement Proposals from this week’s authors Hiisver and Derek Smart (aka SmartApe). Each presenter gave listeners an elevator pitch on their proposal, followed by a Q&A session, that gave everyone some insights into what the authors hope to achieve and why.

“Apes are the leader in this space,” Illa said. “So we have to take that responsibility seriously. What we are doing here with these spaces, and with what this delegation is doing, is a step in the right direction. Obviously the community feels it’s a step in the right direction… We are going to let the authors come up, talk to the community and let the them know why they should  be voting for your AIPs. And I love what Captain said, Why now?  That’s a great question to ask every time we have this space. And I hope every author has a nice thought out answer like today. You could put your foot in your mouth and lose all your momentum. So everyone in the crowd thinking of doing an AIP, I hope you paid attention today.”

Looking ahead, the BAYC plans to host more AIP-centric Spaces, according to Baron. “This is our first time hosting an AIP Space, and there will be more,” he said. “So, as always, turn on notifications for the Bored Ape Yacht Club.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the window to participate in the Made By Apes delegation’s first-ever voting cycle at the ApeCoin DAO is currently open. Every licensed builder is invited to help decide how the delegation’s 6.5 million $APE will be voted between now and October 14th.

If you are a Made By Apes builder, you can vote here: https://snapshot.org/#/madebyapesvote.eth/

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the ApeCoin DAO and keep you updated on every AIP that goes up for a vote, as well as let you know when the BAYC hosts its next AIP Space. Stay tuned for updates!
