TAKE TWO: The Second ApeChain Testnet Is Launching Later Today!

Take two! The Apecoin DAO’s second ApeChain Testnet is going live later today. $Ape holders, builders, and blockchain enjoyers will be able to ape in and check it out!

On Monday, the ApeCoin DAO took to Twitter and announced that its second ApeChain Testnet, dubbed ‘Testnet Curtis’, will be deployed on Tuesday, July 16th.

“It's time for change,” the ApeCoin DAO tweeted. “Testnet Curtis. 7/16/2024.”

Testnet Curtis will be the second ApeChain Testnet to be deployed by the Horizen Labs, Offchain Labs, and Arbitrum team, who were selected by the $Ape community to build the ApeCoin DAO an ApeChain in February 2024.

Following the ApeCoin DAO’s post, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took to Twitter to give Apes and $Ape holders an idea of what Testnet Curtis will be like.

“Stoked for Apechain. the special council asked us to get involved on the branding and my team fucking crushed it imo,” he tweeted. “More to come on that. won’t be much to do on testnet yet, but Otherside and other dapps we’ve been cooking will all be running on the chain once mainnet is here.”

 

While Testnet Curtis will not have everything that the finished ApeChain will have, its launch is an important step towards making ApeChain a reality.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the full version of ApeChain is currently scheduled to launch sometime this month, and 40 developers, including Yuga Labs, have already committed or are close to committing to building on $Ape.

At the time of this article’s publication, it is unclear when ApeChain’s Testnet Curtis will officially launch.
