$Ape only staking is now on Apechain! On Tuesday, the ApeCoin DAO officially closed the $Ape-only staking pool on ApeStakeIO, inviting holders to continue claiming their rewards directly on-chain.
Bridging your $Ape to ApeChain has never been more rewarding. With the Ethereum-based $Ape-only staking pool now closed and all remaining rewards exclusively directed to $Ape holders who have bridged their coins to ApeChain, it’s time to ‘return to monke’ and bring your coins to ApeChain!
“Game over for $APE-only staking on http://app.Apestake.io,” the DAO tweeted. “Rewards for the $APE-only staking pool are moving to ApeChain today, at 12 PM (PST) SOL -> APE route and the Relay bridge are live, bridge now to continue receiving rewards: http://ApeChain.com.”
Important Note: This update only affects the $APE-only pool. If you’re staking your coins in the BAYC, MAYC, or paired B/MAYC Bored Ape Kennel Club Dog pools, you do NOT need to take any action. You will continue to earn staking rewards as you have been for the past two years!
If you haven’t bridged your coins to ApeChain yet, fear not—there’s no deadline! You can bridge at any time and start earning staking rewards.
There are two ways Ethereum $Ape holders can bridge their coins to ApeChain via the ApeChain portal or through the Relay bridge.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the $APE ecosystem is currently in the second year of its staking rewards program. During this year, a total of 50 million $APE will be distributed across the four staking pools. The final Year 2 rewards will be distributed on or around December 8th, 2024.
Once the Year 2 staking season ends, an additional 25 million $APE will be distributed across the four staking pools during the third and final season of $APE staking, according to the DAO.
