SPOTLIGHT: The Zards Are Bringing Magic And Storytelling To ApeChain!

The first few weeks of ApeChain have been nothing short of magical, with NFTs becoming fun again and community members ape-ing into the realm of jpegs for the first time in a long while. Amidst this renaissance, 5,000 Wizards, known as the Zards, have appeared—and they’re ready to cast spells on $Ape and enchant the community with lore and more!

The Zards minted on ApeChain via Magic Eden’s launchpad on November 6th, but the collection’s origins date back to 2021, when founder Seb Brook created his prehistoric project, PixelSaurus, which gained support from Apes.

“In 2021 we created PixelSaurus which are a series of small collections on ETH,” Seb told the Gazette. “A whole lore was built around them and it is based on the hollow earth theory. BAYC was the first community that welcomed us into Web3 and I had never forgotten the kindness, warmth and voice of the community. With the emergence of Ape Chain in 2024, we wanted to create something original that was still part of the PixelSaurus lore but was exclusive on this platform. It was also an opportunity to really connect with BAYC / MAYC community.”

 

With that vision, Seb launched the Zards, a collection of 5,000 Wizards who dwell in the Depths of PixelSaurus’ homeworld.

These underground Wizards have a rich history that Seb hopes to bring to life through an upcoming book, Zards Stories: The Time Of Shadows, online activations, games, and, of course, adventures on the Otherside.

 

“These Wizards have their own Guilds (based on the Staff they own), and an intelligent trait system, which we’re seeing holders really getting excited about,” XYZ said.  “People should hold Zards, because we are an original project bringing value through stories, lore based content, games and the metaverse, thanks to our Otherside land.”

 

Since their ApeChain debut, the Zards have started gaining attention from longtime BAYC members like Phibacka, who is eager to learn more about these mystical Wizards.

“We’ve been blown away at how much the community have taken to us, and I feel like every day we’re getting more and more heads turning,” Seb said.
