SKRT SKRT: BMW Was B(ored)MW On Tuesday After Sharing the 1/1 BAYC-Inspired ApeCar on the Timeline!

The Bored Ape Yacht Club made an appearance on BMW’s official X account yesterday as the brand showcased the ApeCar, designed by BAYC member Rida!

Bimmers have never looked so good—or bored. On Tuesday, the luxury automaker introduced its 2.6 million followers to a car designed for Apes and by an Ape!

 

"This is the BMW ApeCar 2.0. "The fact that @BMW —a company with a legacy dating back to 1916—is proudly showcasing their collaboration with the Bored Ape Yacht Club is absolutely incredible,” BAYC Social and Community Lead Baron VonHustle tweeted. “It’s a testament to how far this community and culture have come, bridging worlds and redefining innovation.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC community voted earlier this year to have Rida design the ApeCar, which was unveiled at ApeFest 2024.

After the event, Apes were invited to make a fully refundable $2,350 pre-order on the BAYC x BMW website for the chance to win the right to purchase this one-of-a-kind car.

 

At this time, Yuga Labs and BMW have not announced a winner, but when they do, the community member will get to customize the $99,000 car with features like bespoke light carpets that display their PFP, custom-stitched headrests, and more.

 

The eventual ApeCar owner will also receive a 1/1 NFT from BAYC and BMW, as well as an Otherside-modeled twin of the car.
