SEWER SHUTDOWN: Yuga Labs Closes Dookey Dash Unclogged But Plans To Bring It Back On Otherside!

The pipes below the Bored Ape Yacht Club are clogged and closed until further notice after Yuga Labs officially shut down its mobile app today. But the company plans to bring it back on Otherside!

It was a somber day in the sewer as Apes and Dookey Dashers got in their last-second runs before Yuga Labs officially closed its poop-themed endless runner game after five months.

“Dookey Dash: Unclogged Season 1’s sewers are officially closed,” the company tweeted from its Bored Ape Yacht Club account. “A huge thanks to @faraway, @swampgaming, and everyone who played this stupid game and won some stupid prizes. The team is working on a more permanent Dookey Dash experience so stay tuned for more details.”

From flush to finish, Dookey Dash: Unclogged made waves around the swamp and gaming world, climbing mobile download charts, collaborating with A Bathing Ape, BMW, Adidas, and McBees, hosting two tournaments, and giving away a million dollars in prizes to Dookey Dashers!

 

While the Dookey Dash: Unclogged app is closing, the pipe dream of a permanent Dookey will continue on Otherside. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs CEO Garga teased earlier this week that the game will be back once the metaverse becomes a reality.

“Massive thank you to everyone who played, streamed, and speedran their way through Dookey Dash,” he tweeted. “And thanks to our partners at Faraway for turning a ridiculous poop game we made 2+ years ago into a full fledged mobile game. With Season 1 wrapped, we’ve made the decision with Faraway to sunset the game in its current form. Dookey Dash will be coming down at the end of the week. From the Yuga side, our gaming efforts are 100% focused on Otherside, a metaverse where games like Dookey Dash can live forever. Expect to see the game resurface once our persistent world goes live in June.”
