RESULTS: The ApeCoin DAO Picked These Five Nominees To Be Special Council Candidates

After weeks of discussion and debate, the ApeCoin DAO has selected which five Special Council nominees will move on to the next round and officially be Special Council Candidates.

After weeks of campaigning, the ApeCoin DAO’s first election season has now entered its third phase after the community selected VeratheApe, Degentraland, Gerry, Herb and BoredApeG to be its five Special Council nominees.

After the vote, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to the five nominees for comment. So far two have messaged the paper back.

“So proud of the campaign and thankful to many people, BoredApeG told the Gazette after he officially became a nominee. “With having the lowest follower count, it was truly a collective effort to get my message out of operationalizing the DAO. Congratulations to all the nominees who advanced and thank you to everyone who participated in this election. Onward to the next round!”

“So thankful for this community," Gerry said. “Back to Work.”

The second round of voting is set to begin tomorrow night and $Ape holders will have until December 28th to cast their ballots and select which three nominees they want to be on the Special Council beginning in January 2023.

After tonight’s vote, Special Council member Yat Siu took to Twitter and congratulated the five Candidates! “Congratulations to @veratheape@degentraland@nftgerry@Herb_Castillo & @BoredApeG for advancing to the final stage of the @apecoin Special Council election! It has been thrilling to see the democratic spirit of #DAOs at work with the $ape community.”
