RESULTS: The Ape Assembly Elected Its First Two Representatives Last Night. Here's Who Won:

Following a condensed election season at the ApeCoin DAO, the Ape Assembly has elected its first Spokesperson and Coordinator.

The Ape Assembly, a governing body of highly active governance participants within the ApeCoin Ecosystem that was established as part of AIP 239 and controls a monthly budget of $10,000 USD, has its first two representatives this evening after they elected BigBull to be their Spokesperson and BojangleGuy to be the group’s Coordinator.

“Excited to be able to serve the @apecoin community as the Ape Assembly Spokesperson,” BigBull tweeted after the election last night. “Congrats to @BojangleGuy really looking forward to working together on this. P.S. your PFP is very cool. @apecoin.”

As Ape Assembly Spokesperson, BigBull will the committee’s official representative and they will be responsible for collaborating with other Working Groups, ensuring transparency in the Ape Assembly, and reporting the committee’s activities to the Governance Working Group and the broader ApeCoin DAO, according to the the Governance Working Group.

As BigBull begins his term as Spokesperson, BojangleGuy begins his term as the group’s Coordinator. In this role, BojangleGuy will be responsible for taking notes during Ape Assembly meetings, coordinating meeting times and agendas, and assisting the Spokesperson and other Ape Assembly members in their communication efforts, according to the DAO.

“It feels good to be able to have the opportunity to serve the DAO in this capacity,” he told the Gazette after his victory. “The Ape Assembly has had a rough start and I really think that BigBull and myself can turn this thing around and give it the best shot possible at being a success. We have big plans for what this group of ApeCoin members will be able to accomplish and I am here to make sure that whole process stays as organized and noted as possible. We also hope to get many more people involved in the assembly to better serve and benefit the DAO."

Both the Spokesperson and Coordinator roles will pay 420.69 $Ape per month and the office holders are expected to work 8-10 hours per month, according to Governance Working Group Steward TigerIsFine.

The Ape Assembly’s next meeting is scheduled for September 6th at 10:30 A.M. EST inside the ApeCoin DAO Discord server.
