READY. SET. BID!: Two CryptoPunks Are Hitting Christie’s Auction Block Next Week!
It’s beginning to look a lot like an NFT bull market! This Christmas, art auction house Christie’s will be putting two CryptoPunks on the block alongside incredible physical works from artists like Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Next Tuesday, Christie’s 419-piece First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction will open for bids. Both Web3 enthusiasts and traditional art collectors will have the chance to bid on two CryptoPunks!
"CryptoPunks, created by @larvalabs, are cultural icons, symbolizing the early days of the NFT boom,” Christie’s tweeted. “Check out Lot 290 "CryptoPunk #5381", and Lot 289, "CryptoPunk #984" in our First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art online sale.”
CryptoPunk #984 is a two-attribute female punk with messy hair and an earring, while CryptoPunk #5381 is a two-attribute male punk with a cowboy hat and green clown eyes. According to Christie’s, these NFTs are estimated to sell for $50,000–$70,000 and $70,000–$100,000, respectively.
Collectors will have from December 3rd to December 18th at 10 A.M. EST to place their bids on these CryptoPunks and the other works up for auction.
