Q&A: This AIP Wants The ApeCoin DAO To Have An IRL Presence During ApeFest 2023!

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to put the $Ape in ApeFest 2023 by setting up a booth at ApeFest and other Yuga Labs/ Animoca Brands affiliated events across Hong Kong next month.

AIP-329 titled 'Official ApeCoin DAO Booth at Animoca Brands Event in HK (Apefest)' is an ecosystem system allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor MisterHype.

“Apefest is set to take place in Hong Kong, organized by Yuga Labs,” MisterHype wrote. “This proposal aims to establish and operate Official ApeCoin DAO Booth in HK during Apefest, participate in the upcoming Animoca Brands event, Co-hosting Mocaverse and Elite Apes. This booth will serve as an educational and networking platform, strategically aligned with the Apefest, to deepen connections, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the vibrant Web3 community.”

In total, MisterHype is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $105,000 USD worth of $Ape to setting up the booth. Take a look at the budget breakdown below:

1. In a sentence or two what is your AIP about?

“Apefest is set to take place in Hong Kong, organized by Yuga Labs. This proposal aims to establish and operate Official ApeCoin DAO Booth in HK during Apefest, participate in the upcoming Animoca Brands event. This booth will serve as an educational and networking platform, strategically aligned with the Apefest, to deepen connections, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the vibrant Web3 community. I want to make it clear - this isn't just about fund a booth; marketing is not start or ends in the first day, the AIP will help the DAO to be representing ApeCoin DAO during Apefest in Hong Kong.”

2. What inspired you to write this proposal?

“I'm dedicated to the success of $APE, and my commitment has led me to recognize a critical gap – the absence of ApeCoin at ApeFest. My initial vision was to coordinate a side event in collab with Yuga Labs and Animoca. However, due to various circumstances and constraints, we transitioned to the idea of securing a booth in Hong Kong. While this wasn't the ideal scenario, it was the best option available within the limited timeframe we had to ensure that the DAO could promote in Hong Kong.”

3. Where would this booth be exactly? Have you spoken to groups already about having an $Ape booth at their event?

“Indeed. At the moment, these discussions are held under confidential discussions with Animoca Brands. I want to emphasize that this isn't solely about securing funding for a booth. it's about representing ApeCoin DAO during Apefest in Hong Kong. Notably, this event coincides with Fintech Week in Hong Kong, making it a pivotal gathering.”

4. How would having an $Ape booth benefit the DAO?

“1. Boosting Visibility Enhance our visibility by creating a platform that not only showcases our marketing assets but also facilitates connections with the broader crypto community. 2. APEFEST x APECOIN Seek to establish and manage the Official ApeCoin DAO Booth in Hong Kong during ApeFest, marking our presence at this important event. 3. Educational Focus The booth will be thoughtfully designed to educate and onboard visitors about ApeCoin DAO's processes, including the approval of AIPs, and the significant contributions we make. 4. Asian Outreach To further our reach, the team plans to offer Cantonese language materials and support to facilitate the adoption of $APE in Hong Kong.”

5. What would you like people to learn about $Ape at the booth?

“1. Educate about DAO & GRANTS 2. Mission & Vision of ApeCoin DAO 3. DAO ACTIVITY, AIPs/Thank ape 4. NFT Gallery.”

6. What’s the mascot costume expense about? What is the ApeCoin Mascot?

“The mascot costume expense is for creating a distinctive ApeCoin mascot, based on approval AIP-289, that will be present at the booth and in Hong Kong, engaging with the local community, creating TikTok videos, and further promoting our brand. the cost include shipping to hong kong and from hong kong to approval storage by marketing & communication working group.”

The window to vote on AIP-329 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, October 11th, to cast their coins.
