Q&A: This AIP Aims To Put ApeCoin In The Guinness World Records With the Largest Gin & Tonic Ever!

After pouring gin for Degens around the swamp, this heavy-handed primate is turning up the spirits with an Ape Improvement Proposal to craft the largest gin and tonic ever during NFT Paris—and get $APE into the record books in the process!

AIP-495, titled “Organization of the Guinness World Record Attempt for the Largest Gin & Tonic During NFT Paris 2025,” is an Ape Improvement Proposal written by ApeCoin DAO member and Gin Ape founder Makash Mak.

 

“We propose organizing an official attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest Gin & Tonic during NFT Paris 2025 in Paris,” Makash Mak wrote. “This event aims to engage the ApeCoin DAO community, foster creativity and collaboration, and increase media presence for ApeCoin and the upcoming ApeChain. The project will also help promote the ApeCoin ecosystem, creating a platform for connecting with a broad audience interested in NFTs, blockchain, and modern technologies, with the support of ApeCoinDAO, BAYC, MAYC, Yuga Labs, and Mocaverse community members.”

 

To turn this record-breaking gin and tonic into reality, Makash Mak is asking the DAO to allocate $204,850 USD and 10,000 $APE across four spending tranches. Check out the budget breakdown below:

1. In a sentence or two, can you sum up your proposal and what you want to do?

“Because dreams do come true! Our proposal, AIP-495, is not just about setting the Guinness World Record for the largest gin & tonic but about building a bridge between Web2 and Web3. We aim to showcase how Web3 and IRL can integrate into the world of NFTs and crypto, promoting ApeCoin as more than just an image – as a project, people, and a future.”

 

2. What made you want to try and set the Guinness World Record for the biggest gin & tonic ever?

“It’s a dream turned into a mission. The Guinness World Record symbolizes the fusion of Web3 innovation with the real world, offering an opportunity for global exposure for ApeCoin and the DAO community. Additionally, it amplifies our presence in Web2, directing attention toward Web3 through impactful media coverage.”

 

3. Why is setting a world record on behalf of ApeCoin important for the DAO?

“This is more than just a record – it’s about building the future. Setting this record aligns with the values of Web3 and ApeCoin while placing the DAO community on a global stage. It demonstrates that ApeCoin DAO is an innovative force, bridging the physical and digital worlds in meaningful ways.”

 

4. What should $APE holders know before casting their votes on your AIP?

“By voting for AIP-495, you’re supporting a project that focuses on promoting ApeCoin, not alcohol. Let’s not forget that Snoop Dogg, a Bored Ape Yacht Club member, previously championed a similar record. This event brings numerous benefits to the community, including grants, mystery boxes, a 10k APE lottery, and additional NFTs. The window to vote on AIP-495 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday January 1st, 2025 to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
