Q&A: This AIP Aims Take The ApeCoin DAO's Style Sky High With These Cloud Varsity Jackets!

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that is looking to take the ApeCoin DAO’s drip to new heights with these $Ape inspired cloud varsity jackets!

AIP-263 titled ‘Merch Apes // Free Luxury ApeCoin Varsity Jacket’ is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Zoopie.

“This proposal aims to fuel the increasing demand for merchandise and tangible goods as a means of spreading cultural and brand recognition globally.,” Zoopie wrote. “We believe it is an opportune moment to introduce ApeCoin-branded luxury merchandise. Apparel and memorabilia are key avenues for personal expression, and it seems only fitting that ApeCoin should have its own merchandise to mirror our community’s sentiments, ideas, and individual tastes! We envision these ApeCoin Cloud Varsity Jackets to be available to community members. This limited-edition line will not only boost ApeCoin’s visibility but also reinforce our commitment to culture and community engagement.”

In AIP-263, Zoopie stated that he will produce up to 100 $Ape-themed jackets based on community interest. These jackets will be sold exclusively to ApeCoin DAO contributors who hold at least 250 $Ape in their wallets. Each jacket will cost the equivalent of $669 USD and will only be available for purchase in $Ape.

Further in his proposal, Zoopie said that he will also give away five of his proposed $Ape jackets to five lucky DAO contributors with at least 250 $Ape in their wallets.

If passed, AIP-263 will not cost the DAO anything monetarily and Zoopie expects the jackets to be available for purchase within one or two months.

To find out more about AIP-263 and Zoopie’s inspiration for this $Ape apparel, the Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your AIP?

"Creating quality and experience. I wanted to create something that fresh and new to the DAO, no more hoodies or tees just dope shit."

2. What inspired you to make these jackets and write this AIP?

"One of the biggest motivation is creating something that's high quality. We been seeing all these different proposal, different request asking to do merch but it's just the ApeCoin Logo slapped on a t-shirt or hoodie. I got really tired of seeing these cheap design and want to elevate ApeCoin DAO with something that is premium and that people can take seriously."

3. Why did you decide on the cloud design?

"A lot of inspiration came the cloud collection that LV did with Virgil, I am a huge fan of streetwear and felt that ApeCoin is the same. This is creative and something different. This piece is a conversation piece and after seeing all the different designs that were proposed to the DAO, I think we needed something better."

4. Why are you the right person to make $Ape Jackets?

"I been working with this well known manufacturer for some time now and been waiting for this proposal to go through over 4.5 months ago. This manufacturer works with Kith, BBC, Vogue, and etc. We are ready to produce the product, but there will be challenges that will come up since it's just a hard design to pull off. I always loved high quality products, higher end products and something limited. This fits all of that. I been reselling streetwear for over 6 years and understand how to bring this to life. This will be worn not only to holders but web2 natives as well."

5. In your view, what is $Ape’s style?

"Streetwear, something that is higher quality. I want to create a brand that makes people turn heads. I don't want people to see ApeCoin as a scam coin but see this as a brand that's serious. We want to be able to collab with multiple brands to bring into web3."

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

"My passion is to create something that people can remember. Something in the history books and have fun with it."

The window to vote on AIP-263 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, September 27th, to cast their coins.
