PRIMATE PUNK PURCHASE: An Anonymous Coinbase Prime User Bought An Ape Punk For 2.2 Million Dollars!

An anonymous Coinbase Prime user went full primate today, swinging on-chain to purchase an Ape CryptoPunk in one of the largest NFT sales ever!

As the broader crypto markets continue to sell off, the Web3 world was going gorilla after Wallet 0x8a77b7A89928368d99fc207CAf4f1b4FaeD1FcE6 purchased CryptoPunk #4464 from notable NFT collector ZoomC for 1,011 ETH, or $2,183,749 USD.

 

CryptoPunk #4464 is a three-attribute Ape-type Punk sporting a do-rag, eye mask, and vape. Based on these traits, thus Punk is the 46th rarest CryptoPunk, according to Magic Eden.

At this time, we do not know much about the mystery buyer, but we do know they funded their wallet with 1,002 ETH yesterday from a Coinbase Prime account, according to Etherscan.

 

 

We also know that this anonymous whale’s Punk purchase was the 21st biggest sale in collection history and the second Ape Punk to be sold in the past six months.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, on September 5th, 2024, PunkConscious purchased his Ape Punk, CryptoPunk #6915,  for 620 ETH or $1,480,000 USD.
