PASSED: The ApeCoin DAO Passed An AIP That Could Speed Up The Proposal Process
The ApeCoin DAO voted yes on an Ape Improvement Proposal that may help speed up the proposal process by encouraging moderators to get back to authors within a week!
The ApeCoin community passed AIP-144 titled “Establish Moderator Response Time Guideline,”written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member Red Vulkan.
“A guideline will be imposed to have the Moderator Team respond back to all author messages on the proposal threads within 7 days,” Red Vulkan wrote in AIP-144. “There won’t be any penalties for failure to do so, but this will be a metric that can be shared in monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports and be the first of a series of benchmarks that can be used to analyze the efficiency of the proposal process.”
Following AIP-144 getting approved by the ApeCoin DAO the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Vulkan to find out what happens next.
“While I don't think it will have a huge impact, I want to see the AIP Draft phase become more efficient and transparent and I believe this '7 day response guideline' is a good first step in accomplishing this," Vulkan said. “The goal isn't to reprimand or punish the moderator team if they don't adhere to the guideline. Technically, there is no penalty if the guideline isn't met. But I think this metric can be a valuable one to include in quarterly reports to assess the proposal process and improve upon it. I don't think this will be a perfect, final solution by any means, but rather a small step towards a goal of increasing transparency and efficiency. I'm always thinking of additional ways to improve them. More to come.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-144 and its implementation. Stay tuned for updates!
