PASSED: The ApeCoin DAO Approved Of The Creation Of A Metaverse Working Group. Here's What's Next

Last week, the ApeCoin DAO voted to create a new metaverse working group whose goal will be to support community members in the Otherside and beyond

Ape Improvement Proposal 245 titled “Working Group Charter – Metaverse” was approved last Wednesday with a 2.2 million $Ape cast in favor of the proposal.

“The goal of this proposal is to establish the ApeCoin DAO Metaverse Working Group,” AIP-245 author BadTeeth wrote in his proposal. “The Metaverse Working Group’s mandate is to: Drive culture forward into the metaverse by actively supporting metaverse-related efforts within the ApeCoin DAO. Working Groups enable a sustainable community-led infrastructure that further decentralizes the DAO, creates operational efficiency, and is flexible enough to adapt to any opportunities that may arise.”

Following AIP-245’s approval, the Ape Assembly, “a governing body of highly active governance participants within the ApeCoin Ecosystem,” will elect the Metaverse Working Group’s three Stewards, as laid out in the proposal. After the three Stewards have been elected, they will create and propose a budget to the broader DAO.

“The Metaverse Working Group will be open to all holding 1 $APE,” BadTeeth told the Gazette after the proposal passed. “Next steps are electing three stewards in the Ape Assembly, then workshopping a charter and specific initiatives with the community, and finally proposing a budget that will go up for approval in August. Assuming all goes smooth we'll be operational in September.”
