PASSED: The ApeCoin DAO Approved Of Catapult's AIP. Here's What Happens Next

The ApeCoin community voted in favor of an Ape Improvement Proposal to integrate Catapult, a web 3 social media platform, into the DAO to help foster relationships amongst DAO contributors.

The ApeCoin DAO voted in favor of AIP-140 titled “Integrate with Catapult to refine DAO Onboarding & Participation” by Bored Ape Yacht member and Mutant Cartel Founder Lior.Eth earlier this week.

“ApeCoin is one of the most vibrant and powerful communities in Web3 and the huge vote of confidence is massively appreciated,” Catapult told the Bored Ape Gazette after the vote. “We're now learning more about the specific needs of the DAO so that we can refine the tool, add maximum value, and get it rolled out quickly!"

Catapult went on to say that it hopes to have a pilot program up and running for the ApeCoin DAO by next month.

“We already have a working product that we're getting feedback on and will launch our formal pilot by February 10th," Catapult said. “Our plan is to then have 4 weeks to test and optimize. After that point, we will start to open the product to members of ApeCoin DAO. Get ready to claim your handle!”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Catapult is a social media platform geared towards Web3 users. The platform lets community members customize their profiles on its platform with various badges, wallets, Etc. This way DAO contributors will be able to find out more about one another and connect!

Following the vote, the ApeCoin DAO will allocate 10,000 $Ape to Catapult to use as incentives to onboard $Ape holders to the Catapult platform.

“Catapult will contribute 100% of their time and labor at zero cost to ApeCoin DAO,” Lior wrote in AIP-140.“However, we do request an allocation of 10,000 APE for member onboarding incentives. The full allocation would be used to incentivize members to go through the onboarding flow, which helps everyone learn more about the DAO (including basic structure, mission, values, governance, and more), build their profile, and take their first steps towards broader participation and connection in the DAO. We are proposing that the first 5,000 members who go through this flow will each receive 2 APE. Catapult will also provide other incentives at its own cost. This will include, for example, POAPs for early members — which the team intends to form part of future reward programs.”
