ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants To Create Guidelines And Rules For The ApeCoin DAO's Request For Proposal Process!

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this cycle that wants to establish guidelines and rules for the Ape Foundation to follow when it makes a Request For Proposal in the future!

AIP-401 titled 'Guidelines for Request for Proposals (RFP),' is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor LiveFast9986.

“This AIP is designed to provide clarity to the community and guidelines for those looking to initiate an RFP,” LiveFast wrote. “While we can infer certain rules and best practices based on past precedence set forth on the previous RFPs, it is best to have a set of guidelines going forward.”

In the ApeCoin DAO’s two-year history, the Ape Foundation has invited the Web3 world to make their case and apply for three different Requests for Proposals.

If passed, AIP-401 would establish an RFP process modeled after the DAO’s AIP process. This would begin with writing an RFP draft. From there, the proposed RFP would get a number, and the $Ape community would head to the polls to vote for or against this RFP

If the community votes against the RFP request, the process ends. However, if the community votes in favor of the RFP, the DAO’s Administrator will make a formal announcement regarding its requests for proposals.

From there, companies will be invited to make their bids on Discourse. If no bids are submitted or if the DAO receives only one bid, the DAO’s Administrator can extend the time period, solicit bids, broaden the parameters of the RFP, or award the RFP opportunity to the sole bidder. If the DAO receives two or more bids on an RFP, the bids will go up for a community vote.

 

In total, AIP-401 will not cost the DAO anything, according to LiveFast.

 

The window to vote on AIP-401 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, May 29th, to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
