ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Proposes $APE Page Requirement For Future ApeCoin DAO-Funded Projects
$Apes are builders, and the community is full of businesses and initiatives powered by $Ape—yet many people aren't aware of this! That's why this Ape Improvement Proposal wants to require future $Ape-powered initiatives to include a dedicated $APE page on their websites!
AIP-512, titled “Build with $APE Page on all AIP & Banana Bill Projects,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Public Bored Founder Memebrains.
“The purpose of this proposal is to help guide more people into the ApeCoin community,” MemeBrains wrote. “The ‘Powered by ApeCoin’ logo is great for branding, but lacks a call to action, and does not give a reason for people to join the DAO by purchasing their membership, ie: their first $APE. This proposal is to mandate the inclusion of a prominently visible ‘Build with $APE’ (or similar) website menu item and corresponding website page by every project which receives funding through the ApeCoin DAO, whether through an AIP or through the Banana Bill.”
In AIP-512, MemeBrains laid out four requirements that future $Ape-powered businesses must have on their $Ape Pages if the proposal is passed. However, he did not go into detail about how the page must look because he didn’t want to limit creativity or force a uniform style on every $Ape-powered business.
“The contents of the Build with $APE page shall also be at the discretion of the approved AIP author, however it shall be required to include:1. A brief explanation of: What is the ApeCoin DAO, with a backlink to ApeCoin.com.2. A statement that the ApeCoin DAO funded the authors project. 3. A simple breakdown of the benefits of owning $APE, ie: inclusion in the community, access to Discourse and Discord, voting on proposals, and proposing new proposals. 4. Resources on how to learn more, ie: url to the ApeCoin official twitter account, Discourse, and Discord.”
For reference on what an $APE Page could look like and what kind of information businesses could include, MemeBrains shared his ApeCoin-powered business, The Public Bored’s $APE Page.
In total, MemeBrains is asking the DAO to allocate $2,000 USD to fund this proposal. The money would go toward paying the legal fees for updating the AIP agreement language to include the $APE Page requirement.
If passed, this AIP will not be retroactive, meaning past-approved AIP authors will not need to add an $APE Page to their websites.
The window to vote on AIP-512 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, November 20th, to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
