This new Ape Improvement Proposal aims to make communications a top priority at the ApeCoin DAO!
AIP-175 titled “Establish ApeComms,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member TheHodlrCollective.
“This proposal would put in place the ApeComms working group, which would provide full time AIP development assistance to community members in the ApeCoin ecosystem, educate and provide resources to community members about AIPs and other issues important to the ApeCoin DAO, assist the DAO administrators with communications, and develop a public Discord,” TheHodlrCollective wrote.
The ApeComms team is made up of eight members, Waabam, Lost, Amplify, Vulkan, Halina, SSP, AdventurousApe, and 0xSword.
Currently, the ApeComms team holds Twitter Space conversations with AIP authors two times a week and several of the ApeComms team’s members assisted with the ApeCoin DAO transition plan that was laid out in AIP-196.
This is the ApeComms teams’ second AIP to go up for a community vote. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the team’s first proposal, AIP-142, was rejected by the community.
After the team’s first AIP was rejected, TheHodlrCollective explained that he and the ApeComms team went back to the drawing board and made five key changes to the teams' original proposal.
"1. Clear breakdown of costs, responsibilities, and objectives
2. Roles are more defined and assigned to each team member
3. Compensation for each defined role is based on the role’s average US compensation
4. Total budget was greatly reduced and clarifies hourly commitment at a reasonable weekly time expectation, with an overall reduced initial time frame.
5. Clarification that ApeComms does not take custody of funds upfront: payments are made monthly and are subject to unlocks.”
In total, the ApeComms team is asking the ApeCoin DAO for $114,129 USD for a three-month term, according to the proposal. Take a look at the cost breakdown below:
