O CAPTAIN! MY CAPTAIN!: Former Apecoin DAO Special Council Member Captain Trippy Shared A 16 Part Thread On $Ape, Predicting The Coin’s Best Days Are Ahead!

O Captain! My Captain! Former ApeCoin DAO Special Council member and ApeChain Banana Bill Advisor Captain Trippy took to the timeline today with a message of hope and Ape-ish excitement for the future of ApeCoin.

On Sunday, Captain Trippy shared a 17-part thread on the past, present, and future of ApeCoin, comparing it to Solana circa 2020, when the now top-tier chain was just $2.47 USD per coin.

 

 

“$Ape launched with no real sinks back in early 2022, and a lot of VC and community staking unlocks ahead of it,” Captain Trippy tweeted. “Many of us, including myself, thought there would be plenty to do. There wasn’t. What happened? 2 years of dumping on each other in a brutal bear. It was ugly.”

 

While it has been a brutal journey, today 71% of $Ape is now unlocked, and the majority of the upcoming unlocks are going to either the DAO, Yuga Labs, or the founders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, according to Captain Trippy.

With much of the worst behind the coin when it comes to unlocks, Captain Trippy then turned his post towards the future of $Ape and ApeChain, highlighting a "Blueprint" focused on Content Tools and Distribution, the 100 million $Ape Banana Bill that will fund builders and strike commercial agreements, The Workshop (Yuga Labs’ Degen Avengers team) that will be developing new products on ApeChain, Reboot’s skill-based wagering protocol, Pixel Vault's Battle Plan fighting game that's coming to $Ape, and the BAPE Collab that will feature merch available in $Ape.

 

“We are now at a place that we are launching a blockchain in which the native token is already extremely decentralized, it’s through the worst part of its inflation and very little new token will hit the market,” Captain Trippy wrote.”It also has a max amount that there will ever be. This is a benefit to using ethereum L1 as our settlement and security level and not needing to create new token to reward for security, amongst other benefits. Also, there will be native .which will decrease the supply over time.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the ApeChain mainnet launch is imminent, with over 34 builders—including Sushi Labs, BAPE, Yuga Labs, Camelot, Ape Express, and Blever—already committed to building on $Ape.
