"NUMBER ONE PRIORITY": Yuga Labs CEO Garga Gave Apes An Update On The Miami Clubhouse

A permanent Bored Ape Yacht Club clubhouse in Miami is still in the works—and it’s Yuga Labs CEO Garga’s “number one priority” for BAYC in 2025!

On Monday, BAYC member VeraTheApe released the latest episode of her Vera The Intern podcast featuring Garga.

In the episode, Garga emphasized the importance of bringing Apes together through events like ApeFest and shared that creating a permanent IRL clubhouse in Miami is his top priority for the club.

“Getting people together once a year for something really big and special is great, but I know that the biggest thing that people are looking forward too and has been a dream of mine since starting the club, was to have a permanent headquarters,” he said. “Even more than ApeFest, what I’m focused on is the permanent clubhouse in Miami. I don’t have too much news on that front to share here except that it’s not forgotten. It’s the number one priority for BAYC this year.”

While Garga couldn’t confirm an opening date, he did assure Vera that the clubhouse is happening and that the team is making progress.

“I’m not sure how long it will take to finally get it done, but we are full steam ahead on the BAYC clubhouse,” he said. “The team will kill me if I promised its opening in 2025 and it doesn’t open. But yes, we are working on it."

This update marks the first time since July 2024 that the community has heard news about the clubhouse. At that time, Garga told Dim.Eth On a Metaverse Monday Space that BAYC was searching for the right partner to manage day-to-day operations.

“The clubhouse has been on our roadmap for a very long time. The tricky part has been has making sure we have the best possible partner to work with on it,” Garga said. “We want to make sure that the day-to-day operators are people who are experts in the restaurant and bar scene and are able to manage it. We found somebody that we love and think will do an amazing job.  I know Jeff (Nicholas) and the team have a whole roll out to share that information and the kind of stuff that’s going into our thought process for folks to give their feedback as the build starts churning.”

As The Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the idea of an IRL clubhouse was first revealed as part of BAYC’s Roadmap 2.0 in September 2022.

While we still do not know much about the Clubhouse, former BAYC Creative Director Jeff Nicholas did share an idea of the vibe they were going for back in the summer of 2024.

“Think about it like a high-end dive bar,” Nicholas said in May 2024. “I’ve been saying not so divey that your feet stick to the floor, but also not so high end that its uncomfortable. Dave on our team likes to say that we are not building Cheesecake Factory, we are not building Hakkasan. But it’s more like our real-life version of Cheers with a ton of member perks and great vibes. It’s going to be really really sick.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow updates on the BAYC clubhouse and will let you know as soon as new information becomes available. Stay tuned!
