NO DEAL: Jimmy Founder Rejects Rida’s Offer To Takeover The Project And Teases Funhouse 2.0 Roadmap

Jimmy the Monkey isn’t leaving the Funhouse. On Monday, the creator of ApeChain’s Jimmy the Monkey project announced they have declined Bored Ape Yacht Club member and GeezOnApe founder Rida’s offer to take over the project.

Five days after Rida publicly proposed to takeover JimmyOnApe, the undoxxed creator shared that they plan to retain control of the project and teased more updates and activations going forward!

“The Takeover will not be happening as we have failed to reach an agreement with Rida and the group he represents,” the founder tweeted from the JimmyOnApe account. “We tried our best, but the takeover team didn’t accepted/negotiated back to us regarding this takeover deal. But do not worry as we have made amends with Rida and the Holders and the plans we have for the project will still follow suit. Even though the takeover statement made by Rida has shifted the views of our holders on our ability to lead & deliver, we are confident in our skills to do so. Our vision may not be aligned with what the Takeover team had in mind, but understand that we always do have the best of our holders at the top of our minds.”

The creator acknowledged that many holders supported Rida’s proposal but emphasized that they and their team have big plans in store as part of their Funhouse 2.0 roadmap.

“We understand that not every Jimmy is happy with this announcement, but we’re going forward regardless,” the Jimmy founder continued. “With that said, we’re kickstarting Jimmy’s Funhouse 2.0! Our journey is a tough but fun one, so hang in there It’s gonna be a fun adventure.”

 

While details about Funhouse 2.0 remain under wraps, the project has already undergone a significant visual update. Over the weekend, the Jimmy collection received revamped art and traits, giving the monkeys an extra pop!

“We know that many of our Jimmy have goals beyond simply owning NFTs as they want to leverage the IP for greater purposes,”  the project recently posted on Discord. “To that end, we’ll be modifying most of the traits in the collection to align with our own unique aesthetic, the Jimmy's aesthetic. This will help us avoid any copyright issues and ensure both the project and our Jimmy are protected moving forward.”
