Moonpay Purchased Two More Bored Apes Today For $537,000 USD

Moonpay made waves at the Bored Ape Yacht Club today after the crypto payment Company purchased two bored apes.

Moonpay purchased Bored Ape #9549 and Bored Ape #3933 today for 266.99 Eth or $537,000 USD.

Bored Ape #9549 is a six-trait cheetah fur primate with hip hop clothes, an Irish boho hat and a bored mouth. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #9549 is the 5861st most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools. Moonpay purchased Bored Ape #9549 for 169.99 Eth or $340,000 USD.

Following the purchase, Moonpay took to Twitter and asked its followers who they think will join the swamp next. “Guess who,” Moonpay tweeted.

At the time of this article’s publication, we do not know who Bored Ape #9549 is for, but apes are speculating that the cheetah fur primate could be for either Kanye West, Lil Nas X or Tyga, according to replies to Moonpay’s tweet.

The idea of a rapper or pop star joining the BAYC and having a Cheetah fur primate makes sense based on previous cheetah fur primate purchases by Moonpay.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa each got their apes via Moonpay and each of them are cheetah gang BAYC members.

Hours after purchasing Bored Ape #9549, Moonpay aped again and picked up Bored Ape #3933. Bored Ape #3933 is a six-trait golden brown fur ape with a work vest and Irish boho hat. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #3933 is the 9071stmost rare ape, according to Rarity Tools. Moonpay purchased Bored Ape #3933 for 97 Eth or 197,000.

After today’s purchases, Moonpay only has Bored Ape #9549 and Bored Ape #3933 in its MoonpayHQ wallet. The crypto payment company moved all its other bored apes to wallet: 0x34e77AD857217D8D93dcC0bAE752E2290A2EFb66 two days ago, according to the Opensea data.
