MEET THE CANDIDATE: RACRaymond Is Running For Special Council!

For the past year, ApeCoin DAO Contributor Raymond has been working to de-rug the Regena Apes Club project after taking it over a year ago. In that time, he has met many people around the Web3 ecosystem and wanted to get more involved in some of the other communities that he's a part of. That's when he found out about the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council election and thought the job would be a great opportunity for him to bring an unbiased and positive voice to the DAO!

 

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 27 contributors officially running to replace BoredApeG, Gerry, and VeraTheApe on the DAO's Special Council in 2024.

 

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is RACRaymond

 

 

“I am the best Choice because I believe I have good decision making and I will do my best to build up the integrity of the Ape Coin DAO,” Raymond wrote on his candidate page.

 

To find out more about Raymond’s Special Council candidacy, his experience de-rugging a project, and what he’d like to do for the DAO, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

 

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

 

“My Candidacy is about restoring some positive perception of the Apecoin DAO . And also help make a name for myself a positive contributor to web 3 and decentralization.”

 

 2. When and why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?

 

“I decided to Ape in after hearing a X space from AIP comms about the lack of interest in the various spots that the DAO needed to be filled. After a year of de rugging a NFT project and not making much progress besides giving away most of them, but i met a lot of people and still want to grow myself in this space. I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to step up to a new role in Web 3 and this in turn grows all the communities I remain part of.”

 

 3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?

 

“The thing that makes me the right ape for the council is my unbiased opinion. I run a small design business where I interact with home owners and different governmental municipalities, this give me the ability to work with a lot of different type of people and process a lot of information quickly. Also I will solely focus the the AIP and how would benefit the DAO, as oppsed to just looking at who wrote it. I coach high school softball which is a very strategic game and calls for organization as well as talent evaluation. This will help me communicate clearly and decisively.”

 

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

 

“For my term, I would like to accomplish growing the amount of participants using the DAO as well as having a positive record of supporting proposals that are beneficial for the DAO.”

 5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

 

“A year from now I would like to see the DAO having plenty of proposals out in the world promoting apes and web 3 in a positive welcoming manner, that feels inclusive for anyone who holds the Ape Coin and not just an ape NFT. My hope is that the Ape DAO will be the gold standard of community ran DAOs.”

 

 6. What are your thoughts and views on an ApeChain?

 

“I like the thought of an Ape Chain I don't think there needs to be a rush on it. I believe we should survey the community to see if we have the sentiment that people want it and will build on it. Ape chain must have top tier committed, vetted, projects on it. I love the thought of Ape being a gas coin as well.”

 7. What’s your favorite book, movie, and show?

 

“My favorite book is Machiavelli the Prince My favorite movie is Batman My favorite show is Billions on showtime.”

 

 8. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

 

“Thanks for reaching out I look forward to getting more in depth on these topics.”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council election is currently open and $Ape holders will have until December 13th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

 

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Special Council candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 14th through December 20th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its three new Special Council Members!
