MEET THE CANDIDATE: Phibacka31 Is Running For A Spot On The ApeCoin DAO's Special Council!

Election season is in session and ApeCoin DAO contributor, Bored Media Group Founder and Teacher, Phibacka31, is running for a spot on the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council where he hopes to use his past experiences as an educator and coach to teach the DAO a thing or two about teamwork and making the $Ape ecosystem a more welcoming place!

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 27 contributors officially running to replace BoredApeG, Gerry, and VeraTheApe on the DAO's Special Council in 2024.

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is Phil!

“My motivation for seeking a more involved role in our DAO is rooted in my belief in the power of collective action and decentralized decision-making,” Phil wrote on his candidate page. “Since the beginning, I’ve witnessed the incredible potential of our community to innovate and adapt in the ever-evolving landscape of decentralized organizations. My desire to contribute more stems from a deep conviction that together, we can harness our diverse skills and perspectives to create a more equitable, transparent, and effective system. I am driven by the opportunity to be a part of something transformative — to help steer our DAO towards a future where every member’s voice is not just heard but is instrumental in shaping our direction. I am motivated by the challenges we face, seeing them as opportunities to grow and learn together. My aim is to contribute my energy, ideas, and passion to ensure our DAO remains at the forefront of innovation, embodying the true spirit of decentralization.”

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

“I’m running for special council on the focus of community, collaboration, & communication. I look to be a great team member within the council and ambassador for the DAO community.”

2. Why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?

“I decided to officially run for the position over the last month, though it’s been on my mind for some time as I’ve become more engrained in the DAO. I’m running because I truly feel like I am an asset and one that has a unique set of skills to be a major asset to the special council and DAO as a whole.”

3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?

“What makes me right for this position is my unique perspective and skill for the special council. I am a teacher, coach, and learner by nature and have honed these skills throughout the Web3 communities. I love working with others and understand the value of differing skill sets within a team. I thrive in open conversation and collaboration. I love being an ambassador within the DAO and have thoroughly enjoyed getting more involved in the DAO through our coverage at Bored Media Group and Apecomms community spaces.”

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

“My biggest goal is to help make the DAO feel even more welcoming through teamwork and collaboration within and outside the DAO. As an ambassador to the DAO I would focus on communication through multiple parties which includes answering questions but really focused on listening to other perspectives.”

5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

“I’m just continually looking for growth and more participation of community members. Part of my focus is building up the community to want to contribute more. We want to get rid of the perception of a walled garden and welcome more builders to the DAO.”

6. What are your thoughts and views on an ApeChain?

“It is a must for the world we want where Apecoin is the coin of the metaverse and culture with laser focus on gaming as well. I’m very much looking forward to the continued conversation as we look towards the future of the DAO.”

7. What’s your favorite book, movie, and show?

“Book: The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin Movie: I love most things Christopher Nolan. Really love The Dark Knight and Inception TV: most of the TV I watch is live sports. I love the Indiana Pacers, Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, & the Denver Broncos.”

8. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“I just really love being a part of Web3. I am here to help and be an asset to the community. I love building with members, and I truly love helping cover the space through Bored Media Group, please DM with any other questions or comments. Stay Bored.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Special Council voting opens on December 7th, and $Ape holders will have until December 13th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Special Council candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 14th through December 20th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its three new Special Council Members!
