MEET THE CANDIDATE: Mohamed Is Running For ApeCoin DAO Special Council

After reading the Bitcoin whitepaper for the first time in 2017, ApeCoin DAO contributor Mohamed became obsessed with blockchain and the math behind it. This interest led him down the crypto rabbit hole and into a position at Animoca Brands as the company’s Head of Tokenomics. During his tenure, he has helped launch many projects, including ApeCoin. Now, Mohamed is throwing his hat in the ring and running for a spot on the ApeCoin DAO Special Council because he thinks the community needs someone to create better processes and tokenomics for ApeCoin, and he believes he’s the right $Ape for the job!

The ApeCoin DAO’s summer election season is underway with 10 ApeCoin DAO contributors running for a spot on the 2024 Special Council. Among the candidates vying for this position is Mo_ezz14.

“My motivation to join the ApeCoin DAO Special Council stems from a commitment to leverage my expertise to enhance community involvement and optimize the DAO,” Mohamed wrote on his candidate page. “I envision a DAO where community engagement is maximized through improved governance mechanisms. My Goal is to Make Ape Great Again, as we continue on this journey of iteration and improvement. My Vision is an ecosystem where the core contributors and wider community have aligned interests, approach each AIP with the right mindset and are open to collaborating with other like-minded builders. Together we can!”

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

“The DAO is heavily lacking in actual tokenomics experience, and I am looking to bring my expertise to address this gap and drive substantial improvements.”

 

2. Why did you decide to run for $Ape office?

“Having worked on Apecoin prior to launch and observed its growth and challenges, I feel it’s time to step in and upgrade the tokenomics, staking, and governance structures. My aim is to build ecosystems where adjacent AIPs can collaborate, creating stronger network effects.”

3. What makes you the right $Ape for the job?

“With over 7 years of experience in tokenomics and governance, I have the expertise and a growth mindset necessary for this role. I am a proven leader who works well with others.”

 

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

I aim to: •Build processes that enhance the contributions of all members, positively impacting the price of $APE. •Assist with the tokenomics of Ape Chain and projects to ensure equitable value flow. •Upgrade the processes for AIPs, grouping like-minded AIPs to create better network effects. •Overhaul governance structures to align with current trends and the specific needs of the APE ecosystem. •Re-think and upgrade staking mechanisms that are outdated.

5. If you could pick any former Special Council member to be your advisor if you were elected to the Special Council this summer, who would you pick and why?

“Yat – He is a Jedi, or an Ape Jedi :p”

 

6. Why is becoming an SC member important for you personally?

“I want to showcase my genuine value to the community, demonstrate it in action, and help upskill and teach fellow community members.”

7. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

“I envision a more vibrant DAO due to the successful launch of Ape Chain, implemented upgrades to Governance and Staking, and more equitable value sharing. I also want the DAO to be at the forefront of collaboration and education with other DAOs, with APE_U serving as a proof of concept.”

 

8. How did you get into crypto?

“I was sent the Bitcoin white paper in 2017. As a mathematician, I instantly grasped the value proposition, which led me to start learning more and investing.”

 

9. What do you like to do outside of Web3?

“I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, playing football (soccer), and onboarding new people into the crypto space.”

 

10. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

All of the SC nominees will bring value to the DAO but given our current situation and the need to advance to the next level, we need a professional with actual tokenomics expertise, which I bring to the table.”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council election is currently open and $Ape holders will have until June 12th at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Special Council candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election round from June 13th through June 19th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect two new Special Council members.
