MEET THE CANDIDATE: LOR3LORD Is Running For Marketing And Communications Working Group Steward!

Whether he’s doing 'Degen stuff' or 'Nerd stuff,' ApeCoin DAO Contributor Lor3Lord brings a level of 'CHAOS & MAYHEM' to everything he does. Now, he wants to bring his infectious energy to the ApeCoin DAO as one of the community’s first Marketing and Communications Working Group Stewards!

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with six ApeCoin DAO contributors running to be the community’s first two Marketing and Communications working Group Stewards. Among the candidates vying for this position is Lor3Lord.

“I am running for Steward of the Marketing & Communication Working Group because I have a unique set of skills that allow me to translate the information we get from nerds and turn it into a message that is on brand with our user base and reaches communities outside our ecosystem," he wrote on his candidate page.

To find out more about Lor3Lord and what he would do as a ApeCoin Marketing and Communications Working Group Steward, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. In a sentence or two why are you running for this position?

“It’s the coolest job in the world.”

2. What does Marketing and Comms mean to you?

"It means making sure that $APE and the DAO are in front of as many eyes as possible, across the globe, in both Web2 and Web3 worlds!"

3. What ideas or initiatives would you like to implement at the DAO?

“We have 140,000+ $APE holders with a combined value of $810,000,000 and we need to use that to our advantage. I would like to initiate a payment sticker campaign in all major retailers that our current partner Flexa is working with (Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, Lowes, Chipotle, etc.) This campaign consists of a simple sticker that with our logo that says “$APE Accepted Here”. The number one goal here is developing inexpensive branding across the globe that targets Web2 users. The second goal is to get current holders to spend $APE at these retailers. I want to initiate more sponsorship of Web2 and Web3 events including global tech conferences, music festivals, and our own exclusive $APE DAO events designed to highlight the doers, builders, and creators in our ecosystem. I want to initiate more delegates across several Web2 and Web3 communities. We need more participation in the DAO including voters, AIP writers, tech enthusiasts, and blockchain builders. If we want to be the coin of the metaverse, we have to break out our current silo, and work with other communities. Guerilla Marketing Warfare: Let’s do something unexpected.”

4.Why are you the right person for the job? How has your past experiences prepared you for this?

“I’ve always had to walk the thin line between being a degenerate and a professional, and this role allows me to indulge in a little bit of both. I’ve grown a company from an annual budget of $250,000 a year to $1,000,000 a year, developed new non profit volunteer councils, and on boarded thousands of people into our non profit. At the same time, I have worked on communications for Web3 companies as a Spaces Host, developed Web3 events, and hosted over 275 of ALL OF US RADIO. I am a ThankApe recipient and was awarded MBA Licence #00148. I love it here and want to be here full time.”

5. What kind of budget do you plan to ask the community for and how do you plan to get it passed?

“The average marketing budget is anywhere from 2%-5% of revenue. My plan would include a robust Marketing and Communication strategy that comes in at less that 1% of our current holdings.”

6. What does success look like for this Working Group and where do you hope to see this group a year from now?

“Success for this Working Group means that we have broken out of our current ecosystem and attracted new users from both Web2 and Web3 markets. In a year, I would love to see this Marketing Group with branding across the globe in several languages and new users, thinking to ourselves, “How do we do it bigger next year!?”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Marketing and Communications Working Group voting is currently open and $Ape holders have until December 6th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

After the first round of voting, the top five vote getting nominees will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Marketing and Communications Working Group candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 7th through December 13th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect first two Marketing and Communications Working Group Stewards!
