MEET THE CANDIDATE: JasonJape Is Running For Special Council!

Bored Ape Yacht Club member JasonJape is a businessman and builder who started an NFT magazine, creates beautifully bored watches, and even helped make ApeFest 2023 in Hong Kong a reality! Now, he’s throwing his hat in the ring and running to be on the ApeCoin DAO Special Council with the goal of attracting builders, assisting AIP authors, and integrating $Ape into everyday life!

 

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 27 contributors officially running to replace BoredApeG, Gerry, and VeraTheApe on the DAO's Special Council in 2024.

 

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is JasonJape.

“I would like to contribute my humble effort to the DAO and truly demonstrating this ecosystem is the future,” JasonJape wrote on his candidate page.

 

To find out more about JasonJape’s Special Council candidacy, his experiences around the Yugaverse, and his thoughts on ApeChain, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

 

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

 

“My candidacy is about contributing my expertise and experience to the DAO as a proven blueprint for Hong Kong, assisting community builders worldwide to drive Apecoin DAO towards community engagement, attracting builders, and achieving mass adoption.”

 

 2. When and why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?

 

“I decided to join the Special Council race after meeting several legends and members from Ape foundations during Apefest. Their encouragement and confidence inspired me to contribute and bring about a change for Apecoin DAO.”

 

 3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?

 

“As a director of a NASDAQ-listed fintech company, I have a focus on financial solutions. I am recognized by Yuga Labs as the official community partner who assisted APEFEST with government entities, public transport corporations, private companies, and institutions. I am the founder of the Elite Apes and a successful author of the AIP-314 NFT lab magazine. With my relationships, communication skills, and expertise, I am well-suited to protect the Ape foundation and assist AIPs and authors simultaneously.”

 

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

 

“During my term, I aim to increase the KPI of Apecoin DAO, attract more builders into the ecosystem, and support successful AIPs and authors. Additionally, I would like to promote the adoption of $Ape not only in gaming but also in everyday life spending.”

 5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

 

“year from now, I would love to see $Ape coin become desirable to other NFT collection holders, such as Azuki, DeGods, Memeland, and witness an increase in its value.”

 

 6. What are your thoughts and views on an ApeChain?

 

“I believe that the adoption of an Apechain is inevitable for mass adoption of $Ape. With upcoming AIPs, I foresee the possibility of multiple winners from different chains. We need to be prepared for this outcome and unite our efforts.”

 7. What’s your favorite book, movie, and show?

 

“The Bible.”

 

 8. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

 

“I strongly believe that the Special Council is a team effort and should be diverse in terms of knowledge and experiences. I look forward to working for the communities and contributing as part of the team effort in the Apecoin DAO.”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council election is currently open and $Ape holders will have until December 13th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

 

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Special Council candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 14th through December 20th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its three new Special Council Members!
