MEET THE CANDIDATE: Hiisver Is Running For Marketing& Communications Working Group Steward!

With eight years of graphic design and marketing experience under their belt and tons of derivative ape artwork created in their spare time, ApeCoin DAO Contributor Hiisver has entered the DAO’s Marketing & Communications Working Group Steward race with the goal of onboarding Asia through local and culturally relevant partnerships, and bringing more fun to the $Ape ecosystem!

The summer election season of 2024 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with seven ApeCoin DAO contributors running to be the community’s next Marketing& Communications working Group Steward. Among the candidates vying for this position is Hiisver.

“Since joining the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) community, I have immersed myself in our vibrant ecosystem,” Hiisver wrote on their candidate page. “My active participation in events, contests, and community projects has solidified my commitment to our shared vision. The Thankape contest, in particular, was a pivotal moment in my journey, reigniting my passion and sense of self-worth. I would like to introduce this opportunity to a lot of ambitious young people who are not aware of it.”

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

“My candidacy is about expanding ApeCoin DAO’s reach in Asia, fostering community engagement, and creating culturally relevant content that resonates with the diverse Asian audience.”

2. Why did you decide to run for $Ape office?

“I decided to run for $Ape office because I see immense potential in the Asian market and want to bring the same inspiration and opportunities I experienced to others. Being a part of the ApeCoin DAO community has been transformative for me, and I want to give back by helping it grow in my region.”

3. What makes you the right $Ape for the job?

“With a background in graphic design, digital marketing, and 3D art, combined with my current role as an Art Director at GHORDE, I bring a unique blend of creativity, technical skills, and strategic thinking. My experience in these areas positions me well to effectively market ApeCoin DAO and engage the community.”

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

“During my term, I aim to significantly increase the number of active ApeCoin DAO members in Asia, create engaging and culturally relevant content, and establish strong partnerships with local businesses and influencers. Additionally, I want to host exciting events and activities that strengthen community bonds.”

5. Why is becoming a Working Group Steward important for you personally?

“Becoming a Working Group Steward is important to me because it aligns with my passion for community building and my desire to see ApeCoin DAO thrive in Asia. It’s a chance for me to contribute meaningfully to a community that has given me so much.”

6. What kind of marketing would you like to see the DAO do?

“I’d like to see the DAO engage in more localized and culturally relevant marketing, including influencer partnerships, interactive online campaigns, and educational content that demystifies blockchain and NFTs for new users. Fun activities like meme contests, karaoke nights, and virtual events can also help attract and retain members.”

7. How would you increase transparency at the DAO?

“To increase transparency, I would advocate for regular updates and reports on ongoing projects and initiatives, open community discussions, and accessible documentation of decision-making processes. Transparency builds trust and encourages more active participation from members.”

8. How did you get into crypto?

“I got into crypto through my work as a 3D artist and my interest in blockchain technology. The innovative potential of NFTs and the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies fascinated me, leading me to dive deeper into the space and eventually join the Bored Ape Yacht Club community.”

9. What do you like to do outside of Web3?

“Outside of Web3, I enjoy creating art, working out at the gym, exploring new music, and spending time in nature. I also love traveling and experiencing different cultures, which often inspires my creative work.”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Marketing & Communications Working Group Steward election is set to open on June 6th and $Ape holders will have until June 12th  at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Marketing and Communication Working Group candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election round from June 13th through June 19th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its third Marketing& Communications Working Group Steward!
