MEET THE CANDIDATE: 0xBoredDev Is Running To Be One Of The ApeCoin DAO's First Web3 Development Working Group Stewards

After working at startups and leading teams throughout his Web2 career, 0xBoredDev broke through to the other side and entered the Web3 world in 2021. As a lifelong learner, 0xBoredDev spent the next two years exploring various chains and diving into NFTs. In 2023, he finally joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club, fell in love with the community, and began working on his own Happy Ape children’s book series based on his grinning PFP. Around that same time, 0xBoredDev also got involved with the ApeCoin DAO and has been contributing to the ecosystem for a while. Now, he’s throwing his hat in the ring and running for a spot on the ApeCoin DAO’s newly created Web3 Development Working Group, where he hopes to onboard the masses by amplifying culture and helping people ‘build cool shit.’

The ApeCoin DAO’s summer election season is anything but boring as the community gets ready to elect two of its fellow ApeCoin DAO contributors to chair the DAO’s new Web3 Development Working Group.

The goal of this committee will be to “build income generating projects for the ApeCoin DAO, ApeCoin initiatives like ThankApe, Boring Security DAO, MBA licensed projects, and the ApeCoin community. ApeChain will be a strong focus point once we reach that point,” according to the group’s mandate.

 In total, five ApeCoin DAO contributors have thrown their hats in the ring and are running for these positions. Among the candidates vying for this role is  0xBoredDev.

“The communities in ApeCoin DAO make it a special place,” 0xBoredDev wrote on his candidate page. “It is the home to an extraordinary amount of builders and creators. Working with smart and talented individuals to build something special is what motivates me. The goals I have are to help attract, support and retain quality builders in the dao. Resources and info should be easily accessible, and giving builders the tools to succeed is a big goal of mine. Another goal is to provide better insight to the value of ApeCoin DAO and the web3 projects being created from AIP’s. Track how the web3 steward position is providing value exactly to the dao with key metrics.”

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

“Bring passion and excitement to the ApeCoin DAO and execute quickly on mass ApeChain adoption and hyper growth.”

2. Why did you decide to run for $Ape office?

“I made a commitment to make a change and be active in my community at the end of 2023. I want to inspire others to become more active in the community instead of being passive. ApeCoin DAO has the best community hands down, and with ApeChain we have the best opportunity to have the chain of choice for gaming and culture.”

3. This Working Group is new at the DAO, how do you plan to build a solid foundation?

“I plan to come in and amplify the culture, we help people innovate and build cool shit. Bridge gaps between sub communities and focus on building up relationships.”

 

4. What should the Web3 Development Working Group be about?

“Serve as an incubator for attracting and helping builders succeed. The more talented people we attract and support, the more the dao will grow and profit. Find ways to incentivize top builders for ApeChain. Engage with everyone and find synergies that unite us on larger projects that benefit the dao and participants both.”

 

5. What makes you the right $Ape for the job?

“My passion and love for the community and tech. I’ve worked at startups and lead teams of developers on many projects. I am really good at communicating and motivating others to perform at high levels. I have worked on multiple community projects for free, because I love to help others and build cool stuff. I lead by example and I think that is important for this position. I am a founder of Vrbs DAO so I know what it takes to not only lead but listen.”

6. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

“First priority: build an api and reporting site for better visibility around AIP’s. We need more analytical data! Establish bi-weekly sprints with goals. Create articles outlining progress on monthly and quarterly. Create ways to get builders active and interested in ApeChain. (Hackathon, rewards, etc) Hold spaces to discuss ApeChain and Apecoin dao. Gather feedback, and thoughts from the community. Promote ApeChain and Builders. Ensure they are seen and maybe even create a spotlight page for them. Stay on top of the latest tech and ensure ApeChain is at the forefront of innovation. Judge me by the amount of builders I inspire, and not only help get successfully approved for funding, but actually implement something that returns value back to the dao.”

7. Why is becoming a Working Group Steward important for you personally?

“This is a great opportunity to support the community and help others build on ApeChain. Both things I am personally doing on my own now. It’s also a great opportunity to build my network and a chance to unite others.”

8. How did you get into crypto?

“I watched a pluralsight tutorial on how to create a solidity smart contract and deploy it to azure in 2018. I knew that blockchain would revolutionize the world in so many ways. However, no one that I knew liked crypto or the blockchain. It wasn’t until I moved to a new city where I made friends with others in 2021 that were into nft’s. Long story short, I spent a lot of time on Solana, but finally made my way home to bayc in 2023. It was a long journey, but everything has led me to where I am at now and it’s never felt better!”

9. What do you like to do outside of Web3?

“I’m always learning something new. Whether it’s a programming language or new cool things like ordinals, farcaster frames, erc-404 tokens etc… Most important thing I always make time for and honestly probably not enough of still is for my family. I have a wife, 3 kids and a dog that all need my attention as much as I need theirs.”

10. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“I truly believe this position will help play a crucial role in the growth of the ApeCoin DAO. If voted into this position I’ll do everything I can to listen to ALL of the community and ensure transparency at all times.”
