Mutant Mondays are a tradition nearly as old as the Bored Ape Yacht Club itself—a day each week when community members flood timelines with photos of their Primates to show just how insane Mutants truly are! Now, one BAYC member is bringing the spirit of Mutant Monday from X to TikTok through weekly interviews with some of the club’s most insane Mutants.
BAYC member abitzamines, aka Johnny Bitcoin, recently got his Mutant Mondays TikTok page Made By Apes-certified, and he’s been introducing his frens around the swamp to a whole new audience with TikTok Q&A videos!
With interviews with notable BAYC and MAYC members like BlueEyeQueen and Phil, Johnny is giving people a look behind the PFP at the ape who holds the J-Peg.
“I think people in web 3 look up to Bored Apes like a cult, but no one knows the mind behind the ape so what better way to find out than to do member interviews,” Johnny told the Gazette. “Like what they do on a normal day? How do they feel about the club? Who do they think the Bored Apes biggest competitors are? These are just a few of the questions that are I ask. “
Johnny’s videos have been gaining attention on TikTok, with most of his posts accumulating hundreds of views, and he’s already got almost 500 followers!
Johnny told the Gazette that he plans to grow his Mutant Mondays TikTok account in 2025 and believes his page will introduce a lot of new people to the club—and maybe even bring in some new members!
“I plan on being one of the biggest Made by Apes doing member interviews,” he said. “TikTok has almost 1.4 billion users a month. These videos will get eyes on the club on a different platform. Every view brings potential buyers to the club!”
