KING ME!: King Pickle Made Cross Chain History After Bridging An Ethereum Mainnet NFT To ApeChain And Selling It To Himself!

Cross chain history was made on Sunday after Bored Ape Yacht Club member and Dengs On Ape NFT Founder King Pickle bridged a q00tant NFT from Ethereum Mainnet to ApeChain and sold it to himself for 14 $Ape!

 

Less than a week after Yuga Labs officially rolled out its Shadows tech, which introduced two new ways for Ethereum Mainnet NFT holders to bring their NFTs to ApeChain, King Pickle decided to test the system and wound up making history!

To recap, Yuga Labs’ new Shadows tech brings Ethereum NFT assets to Layer-2 blockchains like ApeChain, opening up new possibilities for holders like rewards, mints, and more. To use Shadows, holders can either delegate their soulbound Shadowed NFT to different wallets, or literally bridge the asset from Ethereum Mainnet to ApeChain.

While most users will probably stick with the soulbound Shadows method, King Pickle wanted to try the full bridge  and ended up making the first ever sale of a shadowed NFT on ApeChain, selling his q00tant to himself for 14 $Ape, or around seven dollars!

“I actually went through the process mainly to get first-hand experience with how shadows work,” King Pickle told the Gazette. But when I realized that nobody had made a sale yet with a shadowed NFT, I had to jump at the chance to be first! I see shadows as foundational blockchain tech so to be the first of “anything” related to it is really cool to me!"

 

After King Pickle’s move, Yuga Labs’ VP of Blockchain, 0xQuit, who not only architected the Shadows tech but also created the q00tant NFT collection, congratulated him for pushing the bounds of ApeChain.

 

“A new milestone: this little q00tant just became the first Shadow sold,” he tweeted. “Nice job working through all of the steps to unlock and list it  @KingpickIe One small step for NFTs.”
