As ApeCoin, ApeChain, and Yuga Labs gear up to take over the City of Lights for NFT Paris next week, community members had some copy-pasta fun about hanging their Apes in the Louvre—which actually happened way back in 2023!
On Friday, the timeline was filled with primates and the caption: “Hang it in the fucking Louvre @BoredApeYC.”
This copy-pasta isn’t far-fetched. In fact, Apes have already been featured in the Louvre’s iconic Pyramid, so any primate ape-ing into the world of fine art is well within the realm of possibility.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, a set of Bored Apes owned by some of the club’s most notable members—including Yat Siu, Snoop Dogg, Frédéric Arnault, Adidas’ Indigo Herz, Deepak Thapliyal, Bored Caviar, Timbaland, Lior.eth, J1mmy.eth, and Bicycle Playing Cards—was showcased in the Louvre during Paris Blockchain Week in March 2023.
“Partnering with Paris Blockchain Week to display notable Apes in the Louvre was a creative way to not only recognize BAYC’s outsized impact on culture, but also showcase how Apes have leveraged IP in exciting ways,” Yuga Labs’ Chief Creative Officer Michael Figge told the Gazette at the time. “It also drives forward the very important conversation of digital art getting the recognition it deserves.”
