Gucci Announced Its Otherside Relics Collection& Will Be Selling "KodaPendants" This Week.
Voyagers will be breaking on through to the Otherside in style after Gucci announced its Otherside Relics collection earlier today.
After a mysterious man approached Blue the Koda last week and gave the mystical creature an insane chain, Gucci took to Twitter and said that Voyagers will be able to purchase their own Gucci KodaPendants from the House later this week.
“Coming to life in both digital and physical form, the #GucciKodaPendant will present itself first as a metadata upgrade for your Koda or Vessel NFT, then as a physical #GucciJewelry necklace. #OthersideRelicsByGucci,” Gucci tweeted. “Those eligible to purchase can do so on Thursday, April 6.”
Gucci went on to say that these pendants are a way to honor the Otherside’s creation and hinted that more physical and digital items may be in the works.
“To honor and commemorate Otherside’s creation, Blue carves each of these precious chips of Obelisk into a familiar shape: that of the bottle that contained the blue fluid from which Otherside began,” Gucci wrote. “Blue offers these spiritual relics to Vessels and Kodas to remind them of their origins. A mysterious golden Voyager, having witnessed Blue’s creation of the bottles, approaches him and proposes a partnership: if Blue will agree to teach the golden Voyager to master Otherside magic, the Voyager will teach Blue to craft other exquisite items. As a gesture of goodwill, the Voyager presents Blue with the chains from which the bottle relics will hang.”
In total, Gucci is selling 3,333 KodaPendants, that have a digital and physical component to them, for 450 $Ape or $1,863 USD each this Thursday, April 6th, at 6 P.M. EST.
These KodaPendants will be sold on a first come first serve basis and will be available exclusively to Koda and Vessel holders.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Gucci and Yuga Labs announced a multi-year partnership last week.
“We are excited to unveil this multifaceted partnership with Yuga Labs, a leader and creative pioneer in web3,” Robert Triefus, Gucci’s senior executive vice president, corporate and brand strategy, and chief executive of Gucci Vault & Metaverse Ventures, said in a statement to Business of Fashion. “This will give us an active role in Otherside and 10KTF’s continuing narrative, unfolding in multiple forms.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Gucci and Yuga Labs partnership and will keep you posted on all things Gucci Otherside Relics. Stay tuned for updates!
