GOING GORILLA: $Ape Holders Mint Out BAYC Members’ ApeChain-Inspired RILLAZ Collection!

ApeChain was going Gorilla this morning after two longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club members' RILLAZ NFT collection minted out as a bunch of degens aped in!

On Friday, the $Ape community was thumping their chests like the degenerate apes they are, minting out BAYC members KidGuri and Web3gatsby’s pixelated primate project, RILLAZ—an art collection inspired by ApeChain’s new logo!

“It's incredible to finally see tangible products and creator tools on ApeChain; all the amazing tech being rolled out in the first week is nothing short of insane,” KidGuri told the Gazette. “Our Rillaz are a celebration of the ApeChain launch and the ApeCoin rebrand, and seeing the community adopt the image, vibes and philosophy is incredibly exciting.”

Following the mint, which cost 2 $Ape per pixelated primate, the collection’s floor price surged to 6.8 $Ape, with 763 unique owners, according to Magic Eden data.

The traits in the RILLAZ collection pay homage to many classic BAYC features like bunny ears and laser eyes, as well as nods to other Yugaverse projects like CryptoPunk top hats and TokenGators foam hats. KidGuri and Web3gatsby also included some fun nods to the Doodles community with its rainbow puke trait, and they even added some original ideas of their own like pink thongs, boxing gloves, Hulk fists, and more!

While RILLAZ was meant to be just a commemorative art project celebrating ApeChain’s launch, Web3gatsby did say that he and KidGuri have some ideas for the project going forward.

“Rillaz is a commemorative art collection to celebrate the launch of ApeChain, pure art,” he said. “We have some ideas and of course, plan future integration as a parent in  @albarra_tdrc. It's our first step into ApeChain and can't wait to keep delivering cool shit.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Web3gatsby and KidGuri have been building their Made By Apes storytelling company, Albarra, for a while now, dropping weekly story updates inspired by projects like 10KTF, rewarding participants with badges and $Ape, and inviting other MBA brands to join the adventure.

Everyone from around the swamp, the $Ape ecosystem, and the broader Web2 and Web3 world can get involved by connecting their Twitter account and joining the Albarra Discord here: https://albarra.world

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Web3gatsby and KidGuri around the swamp and will let you know what’s next for RILLAZ. Stay tuned for updates!
