Little Apes, Voyagers, and more will be running to the bathroom of the Bored Ape Yacht Club this June, not to blow it up, but to battle their frens in an all-new shooter game imagined by Yuga Labs Co-Founders Garga and Gordon Goner, and brought to life by BAYC member CryptoVonDoom’s CommandLine team, dubbed Bathroom Blitz.
What started as a back-of-the-napkin pipe dream is now a fully flushed-out team shooter called Bathroom Blitz, where two teams of Apes are shrunken down and duke it out inside the bathroom of the BAYC.
“Batthroom Blitz is crazy little toy soldiers style game,” Garga said on CryptoVonDoom’s FYI Space on Wednesday. “You are the size of a toy soldier and you’re in the BAYC’s bathroom. There is shit everywhere and you got a sniper rifle. You can pick up an AK-47, you can grapple up on the walls. It’s a small team Shooter, 16 by 16. Its fun and kind of an homage to the days of counterstrike, kitchen rats game, and other toy solider mods that have come out for different shooters over the years. Whenever we test it internally or with your team its always a ton of fun.”
Not only is the game fun and filled with BAYC Easter Eggs, but it’s also built using Yuga Labs’ Otherside Development Kit (ODK), making it a sort of proof of concept for Yuga’s vision of the future of gaming.
“As we’ve ben developing Otherside we’ve been focused on the ODK for people to build on the platform and ship,” Garga said. “We are strong believers that modding and UGC is the biggest unlock for gaming and that Web3 rails make a whole lot more sense than Web2 will ever be able to do.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, VonDoom and his CommandLine team were among the first community members to gain access to the Otherside ODK back in September 2024.
Yuga Labs and the CommandLine team officially announced Bathroom Blitz as a new ODK experience in February 2025.
