From primate to prospector, Bored Ape Yacht Club members are now invited to dig for gold on ApeChain! Late last night, Not a Punks Cult and Goobaloo opened their Proof of Work Gold Mine to Apes, utilizing Yuga Labs’ new shadow tech.
The $Ape ecosystem is seeing shadows in the gold mines today after the project invited Apes to pick up a pickaxe and join the on-chain gold rush that has been taking place on ApeChain over the past week!
“It's an obvious and natural fit, we wouldn't have Apechain without Apes,” the project’s creator Uncle Mac told the Gazette. “The Mine is built for all of Apechain, and with the creation of shadows by @0xQuit it was a piece of cake to add them.”
With this addition, Apes and Mutants now join frens from 62 of ApeChain’s biggest collections in the mines, digging for Gold Ore and a piece of the 21,000,000 total gold supply! At the time of this article’s publication, a little more than 6 million gold remains up for grabs!
Apes’ addition to the mines is made possible by Yuga Labs’ shadow tech. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs’ Vice President of Blockchain, 0xQuit, announced the soft rollout of Ape shadows two weeks ago at ETH Denver.
With this update, Bored Ape and Mutant Ape holders’ shadows are now on ApeChain, either in the wallet holding their Ape or in the wallet they have previously delegated their Ape to via Delegate XYZ.
“Your shadow is already deployed,” ApeChain’ Ngbshpend explained to Apes last night. “If you aren’t using @delegatedotxyz then it’s already in the wallet that holds your MAYC. If you are delegated then the shadow is in the wallet with the most recent shadow NFT delegation sent too.”
Looking ahead, BAYC and MAYC members, as well as NFT holders across Web3, can expect more opportunities for their mainnet NFTs on ApeChain and other Layer 2s, according to 0xQuit.
“What does it mean to have your assets anywhere,” 0xQuit tweeted last month. “Projects can reward NFT communities completely onchain, regardless of what chain they launch on. New project founders don't have to fuss about which chain they launch on - they can be on all of them. And as a user, your UX improves as well. You can easily move your asset across chains, to any chain where Shadows are supported. This enables trading, NFTFi, and any other use cases that require full ERC721 functionality.”
