FORE THE GOBS: The GobsOnApe 'Like Golf' And Looked Good Doing It This Masters Weekend!

The Gobs left the valley of Grimhold for the greens of Augusta this weekend for a tradition like no other, the Masters!

The 89th annual Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia, took place this weekend, and the Gobs On Ape showed up on the timeline to celebrate with an all-new overlay edit courtesy of avid Gob and golfer Not Gucci!

 

"Gobs like golf — @TheMasters,” he tweeted on Friday along with a photo of his green Goblin rocking a Masters green cap!

 

“I play golf as a hobby IRL, have played for around 10 years or so,” NotGucci told the Gazette. “I love the Masters more than any other golf tournament for its history with Tiger Woods mainly, watching his comeback in 2019 when he last won was something very exciting..So I just saw a masters tweet yesterday ) and thought to myself to make a special gob just for fun.”

 

What started as a fun one-off turned into a perfect swing, with over a dozen Gobs lining up for Masters merch!

“Suddenly, James Hall saw this and I noticed he was a fan of the tournament as well, and others followed, noticing more and more gobs were into golf, started asking for the same overlay so I started making one for everyone who asked and it just went viral,” he said.

 

In total, Not Gucci got 15 Gobs dressed for the Masters this weekend. Take a look at some of them below:

 

This weekend’s Masters edit isn’t Not Gucci’s first overlay for his Gobs On Ape frens. In the past, he made a mine-themed edit inspired by The Not A Punks Cult Proof of Work ApeChain Mines, a GM Mug Club design, and others.

Looking ahead, Not Gucci’s got big plans to have Gobs looking Gucci while cheering on their favorite Formula 1 drivers and maybe even their favorite football teams!

“I always try new things for example I also did a gob for the mine when Uncle Mac launched it," he said. "So yeah I am continuously thinking on what to create next.”
