As the Mintotaurs march down the mountain toward the Gobs on Ape land of Grimhold, the mystical creatures are faced with visions of a violent past where they and the Gobs fought off an ancient evil.

It was another fairy tale Friday in the ApeChain ecosystem last night as the Mintotaurs took to the timeline with a ten-part thread that told the tale of a battle, terrible foes, and a seal that cannot hold forever.

“They stood in silence. Four figures. Four thoughts. The goblins hadn’t breached it. Not yet. But the question lingered: Would they be the ones to open it? Or just the reason it opened? They left before the moon rose. The stone said nothing more. The seal still held— for now. Grimhold lay a but a week away.”

At this time, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the Mintotaurs or how they tie into the larger story of Gobs On Ape. But we do know they’re friends of the Gobs in-universe, and they’ll be arriving on ApeChain as a free mint/claim beginning Sunday, April 20th.

Every Gobs On Ape holder will get the chance to mint one Mintotaur per Gob they own for free on Blever. Apes, Mutants, Doggos, and some unannounced ApeChain NFT collections will also be eligible to mint Mintotaurs. In total, the Mintotaurs collection will feature 3,333 pixelated beasts, according to Gobs On Ape and Mintotaurs founder James Hall.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Mintotaurs mint and their lore. Stay tuned for updates!
