ELECTION 2024: WebMoss Is Running For ApeCoin DAO Web3 Development Working Group Steward

WebMoss got involved with the ApeCoin DAO after winning an $Ape-funded Hackathon and has been an active member ever since. From assisting the community to writing an Ape Improvement Proposal that established the Web3 Development Working Group, WebMoss has aped into the $Ape community. Now, he has thrown his hat into the ring and is running for a spot on the Web3 Development Working Group that he helped create!

Things are anything but boring in the $Ape ecosystem this week as ApeCoin DAO Contributors head to the polls to cast their coins and elect two Special Council members, two Governance Working Group Stewards, two Web3 Development Working Group Stewards, a Marketing and Communications Working Group Steward, and a Metaverse Working Group Steward to $Ape office!

As $Apes start to vote, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to every candidate from every race and asked them for their final thoughts on the Banana Bill, what they hope to accomplish, and making ApeCoin fun.

1. In a sentence or two why should $Ape holders vote for you?

“Since joining the ApeCoin community, I've been a committed and engaged DAO member, consistently contributing to and adding value to the ApeCoin community, as evidenced by my AIPs and forum profile. My dedication to Web3 has spurred my active participation since 2019, especially in hackathons where I explore the latest innovations in the Web3 arena. With a robust IT industry background, I've successfully developed brands and products across diverse sectors since 2010. As the author of AIP 376, which established the Web3 Development Group, I am well-positioned to ensure we achieve its intended objectives and goals.”

2. What’s your vision for the Web3 Development Working Group?

“Our focus should be on attracting and empowering builders by providing essential resources, funding, and community support to foster our collective success. With our ApeCoin community's wealth of talent, it is crucial that we leverage it effectively. Last year, it was announced that the ApeCoin DAO could generate revenue from AIPs and community projects. To ensure this value benefits the ApeCoin DAO, we need a structured approach. A key objective of the Web3 Development Working Group will be to establish a framework to achieve this goal.”

3. This is a new Working Group and you’ll have to ask for a budget later this year. What kind of budget do you plan to ask the DAO for and what will you use the money on?

“The Web3 Development Working Group should prioritize attracting developers to the DAO. A portion of the budget will be allocated to collaborations with platforms like EthGlobal, leveraging their vibrant community. I propose organizing an ApeChain build-a-thon and hosting in-person bootcamps to further engage developers from outside our community. We also need to highlight early projects on ApeChain by enhancing our marketing and communications efforts to effectively promote these builders. With the upcoming Banana Bill, we can support developers and projects, ensuring they can fully capitalize on this opportunity. Additionally, the budget should include funds for business development and outreach to other communities and protocols for more open collaboration.

 

4. What is one tangible thing that you want to accomplish if elected? How will it impact the DAO?

“Supporting ApeChain's efforts is crucial, and I am dedicated to contributing to its success. Personally, I am focused on simplifying the process for developers to bring their ideas to the DAO and secure funding. Innovation can arise from diverse sources, and it's vital that we nurture it effectively.”

5. What are your thoughts on the Banana Bill? How would you support it as the DAO’s Web3 Development Working Group Steward?

“I'm excited to witness the Banana Bill come to fruition; it marks a significant milestone, and I'm grateful for the dedicated efforts of the Special Council and Working Group Stewards. As members of the Web3 Development WG, our role will be to source the best opportunities for the DAO and help projects achieve their goals and objectives.”

 

6. How do you plan to make ApeCoin fun?

“I aim to collaborate with various projects on ApeChain to create exciting opportunities that engage the community. Launching a playful Apekin community coin for airdrops to our diverse NFT communities or an ApeCoin NFT would be fantastic. Let's cultivate and promote a vibrant Web3 culture together.”

“I am dedicated to our community's success and envision a future where ApeCoin sets the benchmark for innovation, inclusivity, and enjoyment in the decentralized world. Your support and vote mean everything to me. Thank you.”
