DN: Otherside Will Have Deep Integration With ApeChain, According To Yuga Labs CEO Garga

Things were getting deep around the swamp today as Yuga Labs CEO Garga confirmed that Otherside and ApeChain will go hand in hand!

On Thursday, Garga aped into the Otherside Discord to answer community members' questions about the metaverse.

 

 

During the chat, Bored Ape Yacht Club member SeanNana asked Garga about ApeChain integrations in the Otherside Development Kit and the metaverse in general. Garga confirmed that these integrations run deep. 

“Otherside will have a deep integration with ApeChain,” Garga wrote. “inventory/medals/achievements/tipping etc onchain.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, from the first Otherside trailer way back in March 2022 to today, the Otherside has always been powered by $APE!

At this time, we don’t know exactly what ApeChain’s deep integrations will look like once the first iteration of the persistent metaverse opens this June. However, thanks to Yuga Labs Vice President of Product PP Man, we have an idea of how building and selling items on Otherside using ImprobableIO’s M² technology, and minting these objects onto ApeChain, will work.

 

 

Back in August 2024, PP Man shared a 90-second video showing a rubber duck being created, minted on ApeChain, and then brought into Otherside!

 

At the time, Other Space summed up PP Man’s video as: “Define object -> Mint on ApeChain -> Buy with $APE fully in-world An early example of how @apecoin will power @OthersideMeta.”
