This Bored Ape Yacht Club member is bringing the vibes of ApeFest 2024 to ApeChain with her whimsical new Banana Bay Ape collection inspired by her frens and memories from around the swamp!
BAYC member and BoredIn founder Popil invites everyone to ape into her first ApeChain project this Thursday at 12 P.M. EST. The 3,888 piece Banana Bay Ape collection is minting on Magic Eden’s Launchpad and aims to capture the joy and camaraderie felt at the BoredIn x Thank Ape Creator House events during ApeFest 2024!
“BANANA BAY APE by Popil is a playful tribute to ApeFest and the 4-day "BoredIn x Thank Ape Creator House" event,” she wrote. “This vibrant collection celebrates the humor, heart, and creativity of the Ape and ApeCoin community, with each quirky character inspired by eras of Ape culture. As Popil’s first derivative collection after three years of Ape-inspired art, it’s a bold, bananas celebration kicking off exciting MBA collaborations. Dive into the world of "Banana Bay Ape"—where fun, fandom, and fuzzy feels await!”
The collection features traits inspired by ApeFest 2024, such as Bay Ape versions of the event’s real-life merch, Top Trader backgrounds, and ApeChain eyes. It also celebrates the frens Popil has made around the swamp!
“The initial concept of BANANA BAY APE was born as a celebratory gift designed for a dear friend PPMAN on the occasion of their newborn,” Popil told the Gazette. “Knowing that every day is a birthday for PPMAN, I created a quirky "Crazy Eyes Bay Ape" as a unique gift. This eccentric yet adorable Bay Ape quickly became synonymous with my distinct style. Over time, it evolved into the signature character and primary design element for the BoredIn x Thank Ape side events during the four days of ApeFest, featured in prominent posters and themed merchandise. This collection embodies the love and cultural legacy of an Ape within the community. Each BANANA BAY APE trait is deeply rooted in the shared memories and passion for the BAYC community, MBA culture, and iconic moments like ApeFest. It also marks the beginning of exploring the potential of IP collaborations within the community.”
Thursday’s mint will take place over these three phases beginning with a whitelist at 12 P.M. Est, an allow list at 1 P.M. EST, and then a public mint at 2 P.M. EST.
Each Bay Ape will cost Each Bay Ape will cost 23 $APE during the first two phases and 35 $APE during the public mint, according to Magic Eden.
