COMING UP: ApeCoin DAO Contributor Lumberg& His 'A-Team' Are Hosting An ApeChain Space Tomorrow

Monday will be off the chain as ApeCoin DAO Contributor Lumberg and his team, which includes MachiBigBrother, take to Twitter spaces and talk all things ApeChain!

“Join the ApeChain A-Team discussion tomorrow at 9am Pacific / 1am Taipei / 6pm Central Europe,” Lumberg tweeted.

Tomorrow’s ApeChain talk comes days after Lumberg posted on the ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse page that he and his team believe that Optimism and its Supercahin would be the best place to deploy ApeChain.

“After much consideration, we have chosen to support Layer-2 rollups given that Layer-2 rollups can best attract developers to build on ApeChain,” he wrote on November 22nd. “Utilizing a technology solution that is most attractive to developers is critical for the success of building a robust ecosystem of dApps on ApeChain. Specifically, we are committed to deploying ApeChain on Optimism as part of the Optimism Superchain ecosystem, aligning ApeChain with a large community of developers who believe in user protection, decentralization, and economic autonomy. In addition, the team has a vision of contributing toward the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem by becoming core contributors in the Optimism Foundation.”

For those who are unfamiliar with Optimism’s ‘Superchain,’ the Optimism Foundation describes it as “a horizontally scalable network of chains that share security, a communication layer, and an open-source development stack, according to its website. “A permissionless system for deploying new chains to a shared network opens the door to massive scale, novel applications, and a new revenue model that rewards application developers for the fees their chains generate, and rewards protocol developers for the public goods they create.”

Earlier this week, Optimism Foundation Co-founder and Chief Scientist, Ben Jones, pitched his Superchain to the ApeCoin DAO.

“From conversations with Yuga Labs and other ApeCoin community members, we understand that the DAO is looking for opportunities to scale its revenue model with the peace of mind that comes from building on battle tested blockspace infrastructure,” Jones wrote. “We feel that an ApeChain built on the Optimism Superchain is an extremely strong fit for these goals.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, talks of a possible Ethereum layer 2 ApeChain began in October after Polygon Labs Co-Founder, Sandeep Nailwal, posted an idea on the ApeCoin DAO’s discourse forum that called for the creation of a “ zero-knowledge powered Layer-2" ApeChain for ApeCoin.

Along with Polygon and Optimism, ApeCoin DAO launch partner and creator of the DAO’s staking system, Horizen Labs, have also said that they are interested in ApeChain.
